Disney Animator Dolls?
UK Release Dates

Thanks! I hope the UK Disney Store keeps to its schedule and makes them available in mid-December for you. That is really cutting it close to Christmas, especially if you order it online.
The UK Disney Store site now has the offical dates of the release online and instore of the Animators' Collection Dolls:
The Animator Dolls are nearly here! They will available online on 14th December at approximately 8 AM in time for Christmas delivery and from 16th December in our UK and Ireland stores. We are doing everything we can to get the full range to all of our stores but styles and stocks may vary. All 10 dolls will be available online.
Let's hope that everyone in the UK and Europe can get the dolls that they want.

Also, Rapunzel is once more back on the US Disney Store Animators' Collection page, after being sold out for awhile (again). So all 10 dolls are now for available sale. Notice that Rapunzel is the only Animators' Doll not on sale for $20; she is still at the list price of $24.50. Rapunzel is also hard to find in stores, and in Disneyland. The last two times I went to Disneyland, they didn't have any Rapunzels.

Keeping everything crossed that these don't sell out immediately! Almost wish they hadn't announced it as I check every day anyway!

They have the dolls in the Disney store near to where I work. They are a lot taller than I thought they would be. Very nice looking :)

Good to know that they made it to the UK Disney Stores as scheduled. Your impression is the same as everyone who sees them in person for the first time. Especially being used to seeing 12'' Princess and Barbie dolls, these 16'' toddler dolls are huge by comparison. They even look like giants next to the 17'' singing Disney princess dolls.

I got Belle and Ariel for Christmas - I was soooo happy as I wasn't expecting both! Quite surprised too as my brother bought them for me and now Belle isn't available online! I bought Snow White & Jasmine from the UK store online yesterday. Went to our local store and almost got laughed at by the CM when I asked if they had any in stock :(

Really gutted as I wanted Rapunzel & Pocahontas which aren't available ok the UK store and not sure when/if they will become available. Snow White went off earlier and then came back on - wish I was in the US as I could easily order both!

Will be keeping a close eye on the UK site to see when others become available.

The US site shows all Animators' dolls but Snow White for sale. However, when you click on Rapunzel's image, it shows she is sold out too. My local Disney Store has no Animators' dolls for sale at all. Strangely enough, Disneyland still has a good supply of Rapunzels for sale, as well as Tiana, and that's all. According to the CMs, all but Tiana were sold out before Christmas, and they just got a shipment of Rapunzels. Only one out of the 6 toy stores in Disneyland had the Disney Parks Rapunzel 12'' doll. Rapunzel is hugely popular now as a character - Disney can't seem to keep Rapunzel dolls in stock.

At WDW, we noticed the shops only had Tiana. Until 12/26 when we were resort hopping. The shops at the monorail resorts had Cinderella, Tiana, Aurora, Ariel and Rapunzel. And my Mom said they had just gotten more in over at the Emporium too. So I don't know if there were some stuck in a warehouse somewhere and finally made it to shelves.

She is indeed! It's quite frustrating at times. I guess I shouldn't complain, though, because it means Disney will definitely continue to create more Rapunzel merch...(and...thereby emptying our wallets...)

Good news - the UK store has all but Pocahontas in stock now so I purchased Rapunzel this morning. The one thing I find very frustrating is having to pay £5 for shipping each time! Not so bad a few days ago because I bought two dolls but really begrudge paying it for just one doll.

On a side note Jasmine and Snow White arrived this morning so very pleased about that. I didn't really like Jasmine to start off with but she is my 2nd favourite princess and after looking at her this morning she is growing on me. I opened my Belle & Ariel dolls last night just to see what they were like, I'm not sure whether I'm going to keep these ones in the box or not. On one hand the boxes look cheaply made but I love the drawings on them but really want to get them out on display to tidy their hair up. It was an easy decision with the designer dolls because I actually quite like them in the cases.

I'd be really interested to see what the distribution of the dolls were...

I nabbed them when the shipping offer was on before Christmas as their shipping costs are ridiculous!

I have to say out of the box Aurora is one of my faves though she looked awful in the box. Once her hair is shaken out and the odd hair nets removed she looks great! Shame she seems to be among the least popular.

I was debating on keeping them boxed but very pleased I didn't as they all look much better loose.

Just my luck, all of the dolls are now available on the UK Disney store so I've cancelled my order for just Rapunzel and bought her back with Pocahontas - just one lot of postage then!

Popped into our local city today where they have a Disney store, when we were there on Tuesday I asked about the dolls because I had a £20 voucher sent to me from guest relations (another story regarding the Designer Doll fiasco) so was keeping the £20 for a Animator Doll. As mentioned above the CM said they didn't have any instore but when I informed him I was hoping to spend my voucher on one he advised I could purchase a doll online, bring it back to store for a refund and then buy it back with the voucher. What an excellent idea I thought so off we went and ordered a few dolls online. I decided I would take Snow White out with me for a little adventure, got to the store explained the situation and waited for a manager to OK it. As we were waiting I'd obviously got Snow White out of the bag and the amount of people checking her out was quite funny. I had visions of me having a stand off with a child who wanted the doll and me being 25 years old having to tell the child to back up haha! Anyway as we were leaving another young gent was asking my husband where we bought the doll from so we informed him that they had varied stock left online.

This story almost reminds me of the fiasco I had with said designer doll, to cut a long story short my husband and I travelled a 6 hour round trip on my birthday to get the remaining dolls. We managed to get 2 out of the 5 one being Rapunzel, we got home and I realised she had a stain on her dress - devastated wasn't the word :( Thankfully managed to get another online the next day so took this one back to store and it was literally like I'd pulled out a lump of gold out of my bag. All the CM's flocked to see her and she was quickly ushered out the back of the store! How bizarre!

Just an update from me, I've been waiting a few days for my two dolls to arrive and had a card put through our door yesterday to go and collect them. When we got the depot they brought out a massive box which I was surprised at because I had only ordered two. As I opened them I couldn't believe it but their were the 6 remaining dolls to complete my collection! My hubby had cancelled my order for two and bought them all for me so I was very very happy. Now comes the bad news - the way they had been packaged was very poor. The boxes had just been placed on top of one another, no bubble wrap in between just put on top. Out of the 6 dolls I have 4 with damaged boxes and I'm talking the plastic is broken so god knows what happened to them in transit. I am so annoyed at the disney store for this. When I purchased the rest of my designer dolls they were so well packaged I couldn't believe it just goes to show they couldn't care less about these dolls. I was thinking of leaving all of these dolls in the boxes as I love the drawings on each individual one but I'm going to have to be-box them because the boxes look so awful.

Anyway I've only had a quick look at each individual doll but I must say they look so much better in real life. I agree that Aurora looks so much better than what I imagined, she was my least favourite to start with but I really like her!

Anyone else bought more?

I have to say mine were expertly packed with tissue and bubble wrap around all ten of them - maybe the extra staff have been sacked post Christmas!

The same happened to us, we bought 2 and they arrived in a box much too big, and only a single piece of tissue paper in the box. Luckily we didn't have too much box damage.

Just an update for those going to WDW, in stores today I saw Rapunzel, Ariel, Aurora, Cinderella, and Tiana around Magic Kingdom.

Hi, I am Holly and I started collecting the Animators dolls last year too (I am in the UK) ...

animatorsdolls_20.jpg

So far I have 7 of the 10, but have been told by a CM that the remaining 3 I need Pocahontas, Jasmine & Mulan are online and Oxford Street exclusives. Which is a shame as I really like to pick my dolls in person.

I have also bought duplicates of Rapunzel & Snow White (my favourite 2) and restyled their hair. I gave Rapunzel a fancy braid and actually ended cutting Snow Whites hair as it looked such a mess out of the hair net. I think they came out rather well ...
