Disney Fairytale Designer Collection - Heroes & villains collection 2016
:cheshire: thank you so much ^^ . disney has great dolls, but sometimes they don't know how great they are if you put them correctely ^^. The original position is disappointing for me. It's always a pleasure to share and take the pictures ^^

do you also take out your 17" dolls?

Yeah. I didn't have time to do this today. I'm still a bit tired from my sleepless night at the champs elysées street to get the dolls. I didn't do a shooting of belle and gaston together yet ^^. I 'll debox belle, this week end.

Wow still available online. Overall it seems like this years set of designer dolls is easier to obtain than last years. I am hoping that Disney does another line of these and their 17" LE dolls. I can't wait to get my Belle and gaston in the mail

I didn't try for the set because I though they would sell out. If they last till Friday, I will buy them. Thanks to everyone who has posted photos, they've swayed me about buying them. Some of you should work for Disney, you take better photos of merchandise.

Crazy, huh? It seems that as soon as people start to post their personal pictures of the dolls Disney's sales go up. The Beast was still available in a lot of stores until today and looks like he may have sold out in stores too. They hype people created after posting their personal pictures really did Disney a favour. The same happened with the Platinum set. When The stock pictures were first released the set got mostly negative criticism but someone posted their personal picture the day of the release and look at all the hype it created. They keep getting criticized for their bad stock pictures and they haven't done anything about it so far. I wonder if it is a marketing strategy aimed at measuring their customers influence on their sales? Or they are simply trying to save money on publicity? Lol

They kind of improved with the belle image, but as the saying goes, one step forward two steps back. Gaston and beast were really bad.

Actually I would say that this is costing them more money because they have to photoshop the background out and set up a shooting area and stuff. While fans basically take pictures on their own phones

At my store, there were 14 sets and more people entered in the raffle.

Of the four sets, I've heard that most people are excited for Belle/Gaston followed by Aurora/maleficent.

I don't expect the doll set to be up longer than a day, if that.

Update: Belle/Gaston still in stock at my local store and on the website. The Cinderella/Tremaine set is still available at my store and on the website. I stand by my opinion that Disney has overproduced these dolls and the collector value will suffer. It is a vicious cycle they have created by their greed. Ultimately, collectors will stop buying the dolls since the value will drop not increase over time. Sad.............. Same thing happened with the Nascar diecast market. Greed!

My store still had Belle / Gaston in stock today and Cinderella, but I've been wondering since the beginning how Alice will do. I for one am too burnt out to purchase any more of these sets, but I still hope she does well...

No disrespect intended to Starry Solo and I thank you for not taking offense to my comments. I am just so frustrated at Disney for taking away the WOW factor with the dolls and reducing the collectible value of them. They are now beholden to their stock holders and only care about the almighty dollar. They are too smart not to realize what they were doing by flooding the market with dolls. Not many collectors have the money or the space to buy every doll so we are now forced to choose a few instead of all...............Ok. I am now stepping off my soap box and returning you to your regularly scheduled programming!:io:

I'm wondering the same seeing that's the only set I am interested in, and even then I am not 100% sure on if I wanna get it or not (mainly due to financial reasons and space issues). Whatever the case, I do hope it does well enough to prove to Disney that we want more non-princess characters.

When I went to pick up my Belle and Beast 17" dolls yesterday, I was able to see how my store's done with 2 DFDC releases this month. They had 6 Cinderella/Tremaine dolls left while Belle/Gaston completely sold out. Not surprising, seeing as Belle is one of the more popular princesses in my store (the others being Ariel and, of course, Anna and Elsa).

Got the chance to see the displays for the first time in person, as well. Amazing! I actually really like the Alice set in person. It's charming. So as long as I still feel the same way when I get my set next month, I may end up keeping her after all.

I'm a little nervous about this. Given the lukewarm reception to some of the more "popular girls," I wouldn't expect Alice to be the bombshell who sells out immediately. But the set is really sweet, and it's the only set of characters in this group that people don't already own 10,000 versions of. I've been imagining it to be a piece of cake to snag mine, but as it gets closer I'm starting to worry that simply because this is the ONLY one I want, it will be a disaster.

I want to pick it up in person and not order online and wait to get it and discover Alice's nose is missing or something. Ha. I've already told my BFF he has to work from home that day and go with me to the raffle. I have no idea how my store has been so far with these releases but by the day of I'll probably have a posse of 12 going, hahaha. Then as soon as the one set I want is secured, we can bow out (if there's even more entries than dolls ... it could be a snoozer, too). I want Alice to do well so we get more limited edition merchandise for her ... but I also want it to be stress-free to get my set!

Alice is the only set I'd try for. And it would be my first in this line, which is making me nervous. That the site will crash or the like. Was going to try for Belle/Gaston but since I can't afford the and Alice. It was choose and Alice won out, though Belle is my favorite princess. It's a case of who hasn't been featured the most, that's Alice. And it may be a long time before she is again.

Just remember that whoever wins has to pay for her (they won't let anyone else pay on their credit card) so if your friend's name is called first, go with that one (and if you have to, go buy a gift card right then and there for the purchase price before your friend checks out). Also, depending on the store, they might let the winners purchase as soon as their names are called out.

Ohhh, good to know. I have literally never done a raffle (just first come, first served), which is why I'm nervous! It may not even be an issue if there are more sets than people who show up. But I have no idea! I feel like ordering online would actually be simpler (I have confidence that there are enough to go around that I can place the order, even if she sells quicker than the other sets have for some reason) but since this is THE set for me, I really want to see it before I buy. Gaaahhh. I don't have the temperament for this; maybe it's good there's almost never LE Alice merchandise.

If you're lucky, they might have enough dolls for everyone and not even bother with the raffle. Usually if they have more dolls than people wanting the said dolls by the time they are ready to start calling names, then they will just sell them on a first come first serve basis. I have never been in a raffle either, so I am quite nervous about this myself. However, I have heard so many stories over the years and seen so many people do them via things like YouTube (starting back with the designer villains) that I feel somewhat prepared and I know what I am getting myself into. Hopefully seeing the set for the first time in person will lift my spirits a bit, and my store seems like its never TOO crazy for LE doll releases.

Would anyone be willing to scan the artwork from the sets online or something? If Disney isn't going to give us merch this year, then I at least want to be able to print off the artwork and make my own custom lithographs and maybe even mugs (the latter could be made through a website like Zazzle or something).

Well, it's not scanned but I think it's a really good photo (not mine) :

He usually posts great photos of the artwork as well, so it could work :)

Good luck to those who want to get the Alice set!

Alice is my favorite of the sets. Actually overall, I though they did a great job with this year's designers sets but I also think the popularity of the limited dolls is starting to fade. People can only store so much, hopefully this means things calm down a bit, and it goes back to the days when there wasn't a buying frenzy every release day!

It would be nice to just have one release a year, either 17" or designer.

Totally agree. I mean Disney released 3 Beauty and the Beast dolls, a Platinum set and a Designer set for Belle/Gaston. I'm a huge Beauty and the Beast fan but that was over the top! I couldn't afford all of them so I just picked a select few. No one has that much money to spend in a short amount of time lol Hopefully this would make Disney release dolls of quality and not quantity. I would like something different though. The dolls are gorgeous, it's just nothing new or unique...

Belle looks gorgeous as expected. She looks so much movie accurate and they finally got her hair right. Gaston..well, i like him in his promo photo. His hair was really flat and nice in this. But when I saw him in person his hair seem to puffed a little. Not as flat like his photo image. I like him nonetheless. I think i expected a little too much for his doll. Beast, on the other hand, I didnt like him in his stock photo. I thought he was too plastic and no different with his deluxe doll version.then someone posted his actual photo and I like what i saw. He looks so much better in this photo than that photo disney didnt took. Then when I went to the store to pick up my gaston and belle, the CM showed me the remaining beast and he looks even better in person. He doesnt look cheap at all. When you see him, you know he cost a lot. He looks gorgeous and far from my original perception of him in photos. I think after someone in facebook posted his actual photo, people started to buy the remaining beast that they initially rejected and that included myself. I think when i imagine him with actual fur/ hair he will look worst. He would look like some plushie and not an LE doll. Just look at his stuffed toy in ds he will look weird with head like that stuck on plastic body mould.

Well I assume they will have dolls for the live action BATB with Emma Watson. So that will be two years of BATB LE dolls in a row!

im on the fence if i should buy it or not since I have purchased the 17 inches of belle, gaston and the beast and maybe moana..itll depend on how she looks. I cant just buy every 17 inches that is being released otherwise I wont know where else to store them lol...in case itll be bell LA that ill be getting. I wont do what I did purchasing 3 dolls. I dont have unlimited funds
