So, I am interested in getting a set of the WDI Storybook pins from D23 with the box.

They retailed for either $124.95 or $129.95 per set of 5 pins, so with tax, somewhere between $135 and $141 per set. So between $520 and $564 for the set of 4.

Ideally, I'd like to find this set near-cost if possible, but I know it's probably unlikely.

With eBay fees, PayPal fees, and shipping, it would seem that $700-725 is about the price that I can expect to pay via eBay if the person selling is trying to get at least their retail cost back.

Does that seem like a good price? Does anyone expect the prices to drop? I know they are somewhat small pins.

Thanks for any help.

I haven't kept track of pricing/demand, because I got the one I wanted (Alice) and stopped paying attention. Ha.

BUT I did want to chime in with the fact that they aren't what I'd call "small." While they are far from "jumbo," they are a good size pin--comparable to many of the DSSH releases, I'd say. I have a picture of mine, although I'm not sure it really shows the scale. I'll see if I can find it.

But just know, they aren't mini-pins. I was pleasantly surprised when I had mine in hand; it was bigger than I expected! Good luck in your quest--it's a really cute concept overall.

That's good to know that they aren't small. I haven't seen any side by side pictures (next to a quarter or another pin that I am familiar with). I really like the book series :)

My picture is cropped in a way that wouldn't be useful, ha. Someone else might be able to supply one in the meantime, but if not, I'll take a "comparison" photo tonight and add it to this thread.

I will say, honestly, that if you turned one of the WDI cat frames on its side (so it's horizontal and not vertical), it's probably the same width as the storybook pins. That gives you some idea--way bigger than a quarter!

Thanks! :)

I think I will try to get them for $700-725 if I can (for the set of 4) via eBay. Sis says to wait until we get bonus eBay bucks so we can at least get something back from eBay.

Didn't have a quarter but here is one next to 3 nickels.

I love this set and have to agree with Ann, they are not small. I was pleasantly surprised with their size actually. Sorry, I suck at uploading pics...

When I saw these at LIAA, I died a little inside because they were so nice, and I wanted them. The boxes are about 1 foot x 1 f oot. My initial thought on price was $750. But I wonder how many of these are still together, since so many sets seem to have been broken up already. So I don't know how much we can expect them to go down. I guess it depends on how desperate people are to sell once this fall's CC bills come due (It has been a doozy of a late summer / early fall). Of course, I come to this conclusion after I spent a ton of money on pins that had come into a friend of our's collectibles store. So the odds of me coming up with another $750 for this set is low.

I saw that you had this Tangled pin so I used it to show a comparison in size. I love my F&H pin. As far as those pins go, it's one of the largest I own. :) Concerning value, I have no idea. Whatever my opinion or expectation of prices are, I seem to be a lone duck.

I see you've gotten some comparison pix (including the "money shot" from Newly ) but for what it's worth, here's mine amongst some other pins.

I noticed they seemed less expensive when people were selling them singly, you might want to try that
before shelling out $750.
