Just came back from my Atlanta con vending/Orlando vacation trip, and not only did I gain some new pins on this trip, I also got a new boyfriend ^^

I did Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party the day I arrived, but could not get the Hades pin I been wanting since I couldn't find any Annual Passholders around who could get it for me so these are the pins I ended up getting.

I did dress as Nick Wilde for the event and the Nick Wilde from the parade danced a bit with me and kept poking my chest (I think he was trying to convey to me that I was copying his style) so that was pretty fun.

The next two days I did Epcot Food and Wine (where I got a lot of Figment stuff) and Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights, which was great, for $60 I was able to get in 18 rides and 7 of the 9 haunted houses plus 1 show. I also noticed a lot of the Universal Studio pins say "Pin Trading" on the card but didn't see any similar trading going on, anyone knows if it exists?

I also noticed waving my D23 Gold Membership card really did not get me any special discounts like the Annual Pass and DVC folks, basically the only thing I could get with my card was the Mickey Medal.

I got these from the Disney Character Warehouse at the Outlet. There was a lot of Star Wars Cruise items on sale including pins and this awesome tote back, originally $60, I got it for $15. The Rogue One Death Star jumbo pin which was originally $85, I got it for $15, so that was a big percentage off. I also love the Lion King Recollections pin, which I got 4 of since I bet they will make for great traders.

And at the pin store I got two boxes of the Disney Films mystery box. Also below are all the pins I got pin trading with cast members. I finally completed a hidden Mickey set just by cast member trading, the WDW ride series.

Overall the WDW trip was a nice break after my long weekend vending at Anime Weekend Atlanta and after a week of moving to a new place, and solo I was able to do a lot more than I did my previous trip, though still didn't capture the magic of my first trip to WDW last year. Though this year I was very excited to trade with other collectors in person and brought my pin book of pins I collected over the year and got at D23, but there was no pin traders out really during the days I went. There was one lady who I kept seeing first in line for all the scheduled pin trading times (even in front of all the kids waiting) and she quickly flipped through my book before giving it back not even letting me look at her book, telling me if I wanted to trade I needed to buy a pin off the rack for her first. It appeared she was trying to get the best pins from the kids waiting in the lines and cast members. So that was a bit off putting. Aside from that didn't meet any other pin collectors. Not sure when is the next time I will be doing any Disney trip, but I think this Disneyed me out for while, very fun yet tiring trip.

It sounds like you had a positive trip, its always nice to save some money with discounts. Thanks for sharing, love the Vadar bag!

How was AWA? It was the first anime con I ever went to (back in 1997), and we went almost yearly until 2008 or so. About how many attendees these days? Do you like the venue? Is Daryl still running the AMV track? I always thought AWA had the best AMV program, on the East Coast, at the very least...

Sounds like you had a really good time with few days you had there I too love the character warehouse I always buy loads of pins there for traders and of corse a few t shirts and Christmas items

Whoo! What a great haul! So, did you avoid the con plague??? And new BF??? You can't just hint at something like that and not spill a few deets!!! ~.^

Yup new boyfriend. Good artist friend of mine from Florida I have known for about 2 years. He came up to Atlanta to help me with vending at the con and we made our relationship official that weekend. So it was nice to get to spend time with him since we live in different parts of the country. Since he lives a few hours from the parks we might try to do a WDW trip together next year. Also surprised he never been to Universal Studios so might have to drag him there too. :)

It was my first time going to AWA so I can only compare it to other anime cons, I was mostly stuck in the vendor area so never really saw the rest of the con. The attendance I would say was alright, and sales were slow but I made about what I predicted (just about the same amount as A-Kon and San Japan), though got more folks looking than sales.

Uhh.. yes! I was super confused.. is your new bf Nick Wilde from the parade?? WE NEED MORE INFO!!

Well Nick Wilde is of course my fox husband, but until he leaves Judy, not sure I have a chance with him :p

Does the back of your Boo chaser have a heavy imprint? Something that "used to be" associated with fakes/scam--but Imo, the line between real and not is difficult to find in many pins anymore.
