If I remember correctly - you have to call in and pledge to the drive in order to get the pin. It's nigh-on impossible.

I believe the day the TfT pins are released you have to show up at DSSH with a toy donation worth a certain price ($10... I think was last year's price). I have never done it, but assume it would be similar to paying for a pin. You are just paying for the pin with a toy instead.

Yes, this is 100% true if you live around there. I was thinking about those who don't.

Ahh, I see. Yes, its difficult when you don't live there. (Probably difficult, even if you do... since the traffic is a nightmare and the DSSH is right in the middle of the worst of LA traffic.)

Do you recall if there's a certain time of the year (I guess it's coming up since we're talking about it? haha)? I have some toys I was planning on donating anyway.. I guess I might hang onto them and get a pin out of it haha

Last year the first TforT pin was released on the Monday after Thanksgiving. The next two were released on each of the following Mondays.

Hey, y'all. I know it's been awhile since I posted an update. It's been a combination of busyness, lack of energy, and, honestly, laziness.

Availability update - it's down to Madam Upanova for PTDs. All three Thor pins are still available, though.

Pickup update - over the last week or so I've been able to get three sets of Thor pins, plus three Upanovas and one Buzzards before they sold out. However - two of the Upanovas are really, really bad quality. Serious dips/divots in the enamel, broken off chunks of enamel, streaks in the enamel, missing eyes, etc. The way PTDs are set up, you can exchange and compare only one other PTD and you cannot return them for a refund. I got a bad one yesterday, but the one I was offered as an exchange was worse. I brought it back today in case the one I got was ok so I could change yesterday's out instead, but today's was bad as well. The exchange one looked ok but when I got home I noticed that half of her ballet slipper is a giant broken off divot. So I am really only comfortable with saying that I have one Upanova. I'll go one more time tomorrow to see if I have any luck, but at this point the whole batch of whatever is left may be awful. :/

Regarding Toys for Tots - I'm not sure if there will be three or four pins this year, and it seems as if they are keeping the pin designs a secret again this year. In the last two or three years they've been LE500, and you get one pin for each toy you bring in that's worth at least $10. I believe you are allowed to bring two toys for two pins per day. Each week a new pin will be released (a few years ago they changed to the new pin right away, but last year they went to one design per week), and you "buy" them with toy donations. I haven't decided if I'm going to include TFT in these pickups; if I do, I will price the pins at $12 each (since I'll have to buy a minimum $10 toy plus tax for each one). Last year they allowed call-in donations, but since they stopped taking phone orders I'm not sure if they'll make an exception for this or stick to in-store donations only.

Drawings, list updates, and invoices will all be done tomorrow, as I need to head to bed right now (well, after my next post...). I apologize to all of you for keeping you waiting.

Now for a very important post. I've been thinking this over for a bit, and have been dreading making this post, but I feel it needs to be done.

When I came back from hiatus, my life was supposed to have calmed down. But except for a short while at the beginning, it hasn't. And the times I can visit DSF are getting further and further between. I'm also finding less free time and energy to make shop updates (as you've probably all noticed lately). Looking forward, I don't see this getting better anytime soon. Which I recognize is not fair to y'all (waiting on drawings, waiting on invoices, waiting on mailings, etc.) So, as much as I hate doing this, I think it's best I close up shop.

The shop will remain open through the end of the year. I will do PTD pickups, attend the December release, and most likely do Toys for Tots. But as of January 1st, or whenever I finish fulfilling outstanding orders if the PTD flip is slow like the previous one, I will be closing.

I still plan on going to DSF monthly releases and heading over for good PTD flips. But I won't necessarily go to every one, I probably won't go for additional pickups after the release, and I won't be taking names ahead of time for them; I'll set up sales for the pins after I have them. Some I still plan on doing as drawings (give a certain amount of days for signups), and some may be first come, first served. It will all depends on circumstances at the time of sale.

I want to thank you all for being such great customers over this past year and a half or so! Y'all have been more patient with me than I think I deserve at times.

For those of you with PTD or shop credits - Don't worry! I will be contacting you each of you soon.

You are an absolute treasure and we all appreciate all of the incredible hard work you have out into it and cannot thank you enjoy for the amazing opportunity you've given us!! You're the best, Tessa!! <3

You do you, girl! You have been Extrodinaire kind in picking these up and I know I appreciate every single one of the pins you picked up for me.

So, thank you! And I hope life gets less hectic for you, hectic sucks.

After doing LIAA pickups, I was astounded as to how you and the other pickup regulars for WDW and DLR were able to manage doing orders month after month. It's hard to understand how much work goes into these ventures unless you do one yourself! You have been, and are, such an asset to the community, and I'm sure that everyone supports your decision and are glad that you are putting your well being and enjoyment first. (That's the most important thing!) Echoing everyone else, thank you for all that you have done and may you be showered with a thousand lifetime's worth of pin blessings. :)

Thanks for all the pickups you have done, I know it is a huge undertaking.

For my last order, I'd love to get the last alphabet set if available.

Nope, not gonna happen, I refuse you're resignation...you can't spoil us then expect us to just let you go. Nope, nope, nope. Get cracking on that 2018 thread....
