MyD Pins posted the following on Facebook today:

"Over the span of a couple months an individual came into possession of over 100 Disney pins. These pins were found to be missing from our store in Anaheim, California.

Some of these stolen items were then traded, sold & even given away through 2 Instagram accounts and in person at the Disneyland Resort.

A police report was filed and this past weekend an individual was taken into custody for possession of stolen merchandise. If you recognize any of the pins or photos in the following folders, you may have pins in your possession that were stolen. Any information regarding these items would be greatly appreciated.

If you feel you may have traded with this person but do not see the pin on the list: Please contact us regardless because that item may have been traded for the stolen items.

This dropbox folder contains images from My-D Pins ebay account: Dropbox - Folder A

This dropbox folder contains images that the individual with stolen items shared or posted through instagram: Dropbox - Folder B

Here is a google doc with pin descriptions and a reference # to the dropbox photos -Missing Pins

I haven't traded at the parks in forever and I don't use Instagram (and reportedly this person didn't use Facebook, at least not for pin trading), so I'm not affected. But I know people on here do, so I wanted to spread the word.

Thank you for the post. I only trade here and in Pinpics... I have traded in the parks, but not since June, 2017. I would think I am also safe (not that I have traded for any of the pictured pins... although I would love that Mickey Masterpiece DA pin... one of the legit ones... obviously). So sad to hear about something like this.

It's also important to note that it seems like this person had been stealing from them over multiple months, and people may have bought or traded for them from the thief over that whole time. So even if you did not get a pin directly from that person, you may have gotten it from someone else who did.

I looked over the photos and the only pin I saw that I have is the NBC marquee with Zero, which I got directly from DSF.

There is probably going to be extra scrutiny at the trade event this weekend.

No photos or names of the person are being released at this time, as there is still an open investigation. I'll post updates as they come, but it may be awhile.

Not to freak anyone out but I looked at one of the photos in folder B of the guy showing off the stitch pins on the lanyard and I recognized it immediately. I saw a man wearing that exact lanyard that had stitch pins on it while on my trip to Disneyland in October. I remembered it clearly because of how big it was and how many stitch pins were on it.

Such craziness. I wonder how the thief got the pins, isn't everything locked up there?
I have the same question... how did this person get close enough to so many pins to steal them?
The other question is how will MDP prove what this trader has is their stolen merchandise? I hope they have some way to prove it. A friend had something stolen (3 $10,000 mountain bikes) and found one of them on ebay. The police would do nothing to help reclaim it or arrest the ebay seller, because there was no proof of original ownership which would hold up with the police/in a court of law. In the end the person was caught, but unfortunately my friend never saw their bikes again.
Keep an eye on your pins.

The guy was already arrested. I knew something was fishy about his pins. One day he sends traders, all OE's and park pins. The following week he starts sending me grail pins and mentions "My D Pins had it at this and that price." He was caught with 2 recent stolen pins, which opened an question regarding the other stolen pins in the past months. We looked back at old messages and old traders and posts, and what do you know, most of the stolen pins were listed/posted. Most of which were moved the same day he acquired them, and shipped out. Some were even zapped to others.

Anyways, I contacted the guy directly to ask him if he's been stealing from the shop. He said no, that he gets his pins somewhere in Downtown Los Angeles. Come on! I've been pin trading for years AND I live and work in Downtown Los Angeles, I'm sure I would know about this so called shop that so happens to have many grails. I told him to quit the lies because people know. His final statement, and yes his statement was recorded, "I didn't steal them, a friend did. He sells them to me. I know I will lose $$$ if I give the pins back but I'd rather take the loss than rat my friend." with that being said, whether his story checks out or not, he KNOWINGLY purchased stolen goods. Again, not sure if his story is true or not, but either way, he was arrested and the law will serve rightful justice and get to the bottom of this.

My D Pins was able to get a handful of pins back thanks to the community. People traced their pins back to who they got it from and who that person got it from and so on. Please do the same and let them know if you have any! I will not mention the persons name as it is highly confidential and still under investigation. Lets just say he AND his family (GF & Son), just started trading around April 2017, and mainly trade at Disneyland, CA and over a small community on Instagram. They were not able to branch out as much and have deleted their Instagrams.

Many of the less expensive pins are on boards that you just pick off of and take them to the counter and they ring you up. They can see the open boards from The counter but if an employee has their head down or is ringing someone up, it would be harder to see what's going on with the open boards. The more expensive pins and collectable they have in big glass cases. I was over there last week because I was in the area, but the big glass cases look like they may have locks but many of them don't, so in theory it wouldn't be too hard for someone who normally shop lifts to just open one of the ones the employees aren't able to see from their counter and take the pins. Its really messed up of that person to do what they did. It's a small store with a few really nice employees and they are amazing with their prices and selection, it's just too bad there are PoopyPeople out there scamming and conning to make a quick buck.

Sorry to hear this happened! My D Pins is my favorite Disney pin store! Over the years that I've shopped there, I've bought some very cool Haunted Mansion pins and sets. I hope they get justice!

I imagine the Disney Parks have regular problems with shop lifters for all kinds of merch. When I was a kid, my school did a trip there and our whole school got banned because some of the kids took stuff!

Nevertheless I think it's something Disney are always trying to improve. Perhaps the person in question took them over time, or from the store room? Seems weird so many were stolen.

Ah just saw this! Makes more sense it was over a period of time

I have seen many pin sellers on the LetGo Or OfferUp apps selling multiple, and I mean multiple, of the same mystery pin packs for WAY below the retail price. For instance, there is a seller on OfferUp currently selling in my area near the WDW Resort a lot of 30 Disney Mascots Mystery Pin Packs. These mystery pin packs are still sold at stores across the Walt Disney World Resort for $27.99 each (which the seller even states in his ad). The seller is selling all 30 of these unopened packs for $340 (or $11.33 each). The ad states there are 150 pins (5 per bag) and that all sales are cash payment only. I messaged him once asking how he is able to sell the packs for such a low price considering they are still sold at full value at WDW (even with an AP Discount the packs would still be $22.39 plus tax). He told me that his friend buys then at auctions and that he barely makes a profit on them. I have yet to find any auction near the WDW where pin packs such as these are sold at any price. I'm not saying there aren't any, and perhaps I am wrong, but I find his entire story fishy...
