There are more Acme/Hotart/Pinopolis LE 500 pins for sale on the Pinopolis web shop. The pin description for the cut-outs includes this statement:

"We have “cut out” favorite characters and poses from some of the most popular ACME Artists Series LE 100 Pins and given them a life of their own. Classic Cutouts are LE 500 but have FIVE VARIANTS of 100 each! Each pin will be sealed in a package after inspection with the random variant unknown to us."

I do not understand what this "Five Variant of 100 each" and "random variant unknown to us" means. If I purchase a cut0ut, will I receive the pin pictured? Or is this some sort of mystery set? Does anyone have any further information on this newest Hotart set?

From what I understand it's like the park pack . You'll get the pin you order but it may vary from the image shown , they haven't said what kind of variant it will be (frame / background / colouring) though

So it would still be Mali Dragon, but with different colors? Or still be Stitch with a different color book? This would be fine... I just would prefer not to order Mali and receive Aurora (the other main image in the Mali Dragon pin).

I also emailed Pinopolis... so will see what they say.

That's how I understand it .
Personally I'm holding off further Pinopolis purchases for a while though , I still haven't received my first ones yet (Dancing Princesses) , their customer service needs some improvements

They started getting shipped out last week. I finally got mine on Monday (would have been able to pick it up at the 11/18 pin event had she not shipped it out the day prior).

From what I've been told, it's pretty much a one-woman operation for shipping. Lenny's wife is the only one shipping anything out. I still haven't even opened up all my dancing princesses (they are still in the plastic bag in the bubbles).

Pinopolis just responded... they confirmed the variant is as Speedwaystar1 stated. The wording of Pinopolis response:
"Yes. You will get same pin. Just will have a slight color or metal variation."
It will be fun to see which variant I receive.

I guess right now, I do not have any problem waiting a few months for the pins. Shipping and billing at the same time would be great, but it is what it is... if I cannot control it... not going to worry about it and bottom line is I like the pins. The Acme/Hotart/Pinopolis in the US seems to be a bit of a mom and pop operation. I did receive my dancing princesses order last week, so would think your package should be coming soon.

It seems like a way to make more money out of the same design. It seems very odd to me.

First they say the LE100 is that. Then they release another 100 as a platinum edition at Shanghai (are they still open?) Now 500 more?

Is this new pin the same size as the LE100?

Just an observation... but doesn't Disney use the same artwork too? Recycles the artwork and make more money out of it? As an example, I bought a Maui Jumbo LE 150 at DSSH last year and learned the exact same pin (smaller) was an OE pin in Paris.

For Hotart, I would guess it also has something to do with the Disney art approval process. Perhaps it is one less step and they are able to make more pins. I actually really like the Maleficent cut out they are doing... I didn't want the whole pin with Aurora, so the cut out is perfect for my collection. It also has a really unique look. I am actually pretty excited about it. :):tigger:

I agree that Disney does the same thing. Pretty sucky :p

I'm actually happy to be able to order the Ariel on the rock, it was a grail (Starry Night) that I don't need anymore because I'll be perfectly happy with these variations.
