So I'm deep into planning our first-ever visit to Disney World. Things are officially booked so now it's daily schedules and ADRs and Fastpasses.

This is a family trip so I won't do a lot of wandering off to do pin trading, but I'll do a little. Especially since they can do a much wider range of rides than I can. (Motion sickness.) We'll have either a day or a day and a half at Epcot and I know there is a lot there. Are most of the traders in one spot? I'm wondering more about the amount of time walking around to find them right now then how much time I would actually spend trading, because that second part is so flexible. And where do they set up?

We'll also have either a half day or a full day at Disney Springs. Is there any regular trading there besides the official store?

Thanks!

From my experience it's been sort of a hit or miss to find traders in Epcot. They usually gather in the table area near Pin Trading Station. I went on a Saturday last week and only saw 1 person. Then one of these Thursdays a while back I saw 3 people. I think most people gather at pin trading meet ups off site which are usually on Saturdays. The Disney Pin Collectors society meets every 3rd Saturday of the month.

As for Disney Pin Traders at Disney spring I have never seen trading going on there in the 2 times I went this past month. I think it's another hit or miss situation like in Epcot.

First- Congrats and have fun!

My Experience in Trading at Epcot as a Vacationer

I've always found pretty decent trades for mystery or puzzle set pins at Epcot. I have gone the past few years around the first of October for F&W and been able to make several nice trades now.

I usually bring my small book (it fits nicely in my cross body purse). I fill it with extra pins from LR sets, a few mid range LEs, or puzzle sets I'm completing. For, example I put extra Film mystery pins and the NBC puzzle pieces in it. I put a few LE traders on a page. In the little zipper, I bubble wrap one or two nicer traders.

Last year, I stopped by the area three or four times whenever I was crisscrossing from one side of Epcot to the other. I traded for a princess cameo, some Aladdin puzzle pieces, and the Scary Teddy NBC puzzle chaser. The trades were one to one. I found the traders to be really nice.

Also, you may luck up and have a release around the time you attend. I was at Epcot around Valentine's Day 2016 for the release of the Villaintine Hearts 2nd series. It was fun, and I was able to complete most of it. I ignored the pushy traders and had fun.

I brought a big book one time in 2014 and was miserable. It was heavy and big. Florida was hot. My saving grace was my sister had an infant at the time so she put my book under the stroller when I rode rides. I brought too many pins and stressed about it.

PS: Always have a few trader pins in your pocket or walllet. I traded with a custodial cast member for the Piece of History I Spalsh Mountain pin when I was walking through Germany towards a lunch reservation. Yes, I'm the family member that will tell the rest of the group to meet me in the restaurant for a good pin.

In regard To motion sickness, I highly recommend sea bands. I was skeptical at first thinking acupressure was a bunch of hooey but I now swear by them. They have helped me tremendously in the park over the years. And I even spent many years On boats scuba diving thanks to them. They’re awesome! I urge you to give them a try.
