And speaking of classic Epcot, new CM pin, from the Disney Pins Blog. I'm not sure what I think about releasing pins from things that don't exist anymore. Kinda twisting the knife, but I'll get it anyway.

Yeah, wait. How can it have an anniversary if it's gone??

Trading. Duh. ;)
I'd be right with you if the Epcot icons hadn't been such low quality. :( The paint scratches right off so it's tough to get a good set. As well, so much of what's great about Epcot is in its past, which is sad.

But totally agree with the sentiment. There's so much more they can do with Epcot landmarks, both past and present, for HMs! The two icon series back-to-back makes it seem like they're giving it a lot of attention, but in the grand scheme of things Epcot's really got the short end of the churro when it comes to HM releases.
Agreed.
What about another figment set...? Haven't seen figment HMs in awhile. Or a world showcase country set with different characters. Or an imagination series. etc... Seems like they could do something attractive and cute rather than another (and for me this is repetitive Epcot series releases... Epcot itself is great) set of Epcot icons. So many more interesting options for Epcot.

The same way famous people continue to have birthdays after they're dead. Every time Google announces the "150th birthday of So-and-So," I want to scream. Ain't nobody havin' a 150th birthday at this point in time. We haven't advanced that much. Yet.

OR ... someone put this pin into production well ahead of time and they forgot to pull the plug when the ride closed. Ya know, as if it were on a Pinopolis or fantasy pin timeline ...

Agreed.

The sad part is that the first set was heavily counterfeited which leaves this set open for something similar. Of course that
is true of almost any Disney pin.

I think it's more that because the first set is so widely faked, that's basically the main thing you see on lanyards. All epcot icons all the time XD

At least for me.

But prior to the 2015 HM set the only way to get Epcot Icons would have been the 20th anniversary Cast Member Framed Set, or the 2011 WDI Logo Set. Not very accessible for Epcot fans. They did use the logos on the 30th Anniversay Figment mystery set, but there was so much else going on, the logo wasn't prominent. I certainly wouldn't have been satisfied if that was the only commonly released use of Epcot Logos.

It's only because they released the 35th anniversary mystery set and the 2017 35th WDI set that it feels redundant. But the completion of a 2015 series shouldn't be affected because of something that happened in 2017. I do not want Disney to get in the habit of starting a HM series and then "because some other group designed something similar, we're just going to stop halfway through." Plus, there was that whole shipping / port fiasco that affected the pins and caused the cancellation of the 2016 HM pins. Otherwise, they probably would have finished the set before those usurper series were released.

JUST A FRIENDLY REMINDER ABOUT TOMORROW'S DSF ONLINE POSTCARD RELEASE!!!

I don't plan on getting the Merida one, so if you want it, please let me know ASAP. I sell that one at cost/tax + shipping (to me and to you) + fees. I'll prob trade/sale the others but will worry about that if I even get through tomorrow.. IM ALREADY STRESSED!

I thought I might try the online DSF sales tomorrow. I have never done a DSF online event and I have no access to FB or IG. Can anyone give me the heads-up on what I need to do? Or maybe link me to an old post that explains this? Thanks!

Someone usually posts the direct link from the page, so keep an eye out. :D

Thanks for the reminder! From what I can find, they should be pre-selling these online as well and shipping them, starting today at 10am!

"You can find all of Monogram’s exclusives at Booth #3645 – and inventory won’t be held back each day, so once something is gone, it’s gone. Plan ahead! Even better than that? In July, all of Monogram’s exclusives will be going up for pre-sale on their website daily from July 9 – July 11 at 10AM PT. There will be daily allotment, and once all stock for that day is sold out, it is gone until the enxt day. All pre-orders will be shipped to US addresses only, starting the week after Comic-Con."

A note about the DSF online release - when you first click the link, there will be a page to put in your name and email. If you are accessing that page for the first time, DO NOT FILL IN THOSE BOXES. Click the "I understand" box and then click continue. Those boxes are only for if you've made it partway through the order process and had to leave the page before finishing your order.
