You do know that is how pin pics started. Every pin on that sight was given to them by us the members of the pin community. Yes it is very nice when we work together and no one try's to take advantage of that team work. Great job guys. Keep up the work and the pin count will keep going up.

Yep. I was around just long enough to appreciate it before the site went another direction. In some ways, I'm grateful. It went down for so long during the transition that I ended up here. :D
 
Someone wrote a reply to a question I posted on a FB page, that he thinks they're too busy with the upcoming Animation Celebration event and also under staffed (which is what I personally think the problem is).

For being such a World Wide Pin Trader resource, one would think at the very least, someone would post an update somewhere.
 
They keep saying it is server issues but it has been a week and a half. And it’s getting worse! I used to be able to load SOMETHING if I hit back and forward like 20 times. I am so excited for the event and so nervous I won’t be able to organize my wants beforehand!
 
Make a "statement" and skip the Pinopolis event they are having at the Swan & Dolphin during the pin event. Too busy getting ready for the Pin Event - give me a break!! Get some technical help and fix the damn database!! You will not see me at the S&D event.

However much I don't like these sorts of moves, I'll be doing the same... I see no purpose in giving a company my patronage when their primary use, and one that I value very highly, has clearly been put on the back burner in favor of something that is also riddled with problems and has no concept of marketing. "Here are some stock poses you already have about 7 versions of for $10 bucks, or here's something that's utterly massive and overly complicated for $200. Sorry, nothing in between."

Ugh, I hate feeling this way about something that I used to really really enjoy. :(

I'm curious @maiarebecca , where have you heard it's server issues? I read that from other trader's posts (what they're guessing is wrong) here and on various fb pages.

Oh, they still haven't read the message I sent to them via Messenger.

Server issues is what peachyshades reported on the PinPics forum. She is the only person connected to the site that I have seen say anything about it, and she doesn't know anything else except that they "are working on it."
 
IMHO the key is that enthusiasts should be running PinPics. The people running aren't enthusiasts anymore, nor are the people who are "building" it. Maybe the people they've brought on board as moderators are enthusiasts, but it's not enough.

I offered to rebuild the original PinPics site (and add more features) way back when, but they were already too invested in the rebuild.

I think they posted it somewhere in the forum but I don’t remember where. I also saw it a few times on Facebook that it was server issues.

Well, as much as I agree with these guys, I WILL be going to the Pinopolis Event at the Swan.

I will be getting in for FREE, picking up Pins I have already paid for AND Voicing my displeasure to Pinopolis management directly as to the state of the PinPics site.

I will also be supporting the DPF members who have bought Trading Tables, as well as the other Traders there, by visiting & trading (hopefully) with them.

I see no reason to penalize the Traders who have spent $$ to be there to Trade. I also think complaints made IN PERSON will have more impact than posting in a Forum. See y'all there :)
 
Sigh, add me back to the large group that can't even login to Pin Pics again...I do wish they would fix it.

Oh I hadn't even considered that, Sue! That's very true. Hrm... Perhaps I will make an appearance and support some of my fellow traders. Here's hoping Pinopolis has comment cards ;P

I have spent too much money to not be there. At least on Thursday.

While I will not be at the S&D event, I totally support those going to the event to support the DPF folks at the tables. Please make your voices heard and good luck. Based on past experiences I do not think PinPics "management" is going to listen or care about complaints with the database, IMHO.

Yes, I agree... perhaps supporting a new database would be in everyone's best interest? Its sad... :( but it takes the power out of a commercial entity's hands....

I like the way you think but we know that will never happen. People have said this in the past and all it would do is let the Sharks have easier water to swim in. hopefully they will get the memo about the unhappy community.
 
Haha. They just posted an advertisement for the event on Disney Pin Trading on facebook. So I commented "Maybe pinpics should use the money they have raised from the event to fix their website issues?" because I'll admit, I'm getting pretty salty about the website being down... One of the admin in the group started arguing with me that they don't make money from the event and I replied that all I know is that I paid a lot to be there and I'm disappointed in pinpics and sorry I spent the money. So after a brief back and forth with the admin expressing my disappointment calmly but firmly they just deleted all of my comments. REALLY MATURE!
