Yeah, I'm probably going to have to use the majority of my PTO for that trip and this is the weekend before I leave. I'll probably still attend whatever outside events I can, but unless I can take a personal leave of absence for three weeks and swing it as moving time, I won't be able to attend the event.

Scratch what I said earlier. I checked my bank account and my tax return came in a few days ago, so I went ahead and booked my hotel and park tickets. I'll have until July to cancel for a refund, in case anything comes up and I'm unable to go.

I'll be staying at the Art of Animation (I was tempted to do All-Star Movies since it's the cheapest, but I've already stayed there and wanted something new. Plus maybe if I ask nicely enough they'll let me poke my head into the Lion King suite?) from the 8th to the 15th. I decided to do my parks days after the trade event this time; that way I can do the trading when I'm fresh and not after a week of walking myself into the ground, then I can use Sunday to rest up if I need to before a few days of parks fun.

Can’t be much worse than the end of August like it’s been, right?

Well, you have a point there. It was super hot last year. But I think early August is even worse than late August. Plus I'm pretty sure the park crowds will be bigger as it is more in the height of the summer vacation rush. I think I am going to go strictly for the event and not do any vacationing around it.
