Since my Marvel pin non-collection seems to be continuing to grow, I think I need a large sized pin bag to house them in while I decide what I'm keeping and what I'm not.

So, I'm looking to trade for one. Preference is to trade in person in SoCal (i.e. at the parks or DSSH) to not have to deal with shipping.

I'm looking for an unused or lightly used older style bag. So nothing from the past several years with the rubbery-foam pages like the current style. I'm looking for an older style bag with felt (preferably but not necessarily lined) pages that you can easily get your whole hand in and out of the insides of the pages. Looking for an official Disney bag, not a pinfolio or other.

I don't have a PinPics account as I keep very few traders at this point, but I have access to some decent pins for trade as I can pretty much get anything DEC and some WDI (don't ask for profiles, can't help you with those). So if you have a bag like this for trade, let me know and I'll take a look at your wants and see if I can find anything you need.

For reference, these are the kind of pages I'm looking for inside the pin bag:

Thanks!

I'm with you! I don't know why they stopped making those older style felt/padded bags with the velcro bottoms. After I bought my first one from Disney in 2010 or 2011, they switched to the new style which is super-frustrating. So much so, that when I needed a second bag, I found a seller on eBay from China selling knock-offs and was so desperate for the old-style I took a risk. Turns out it worked great! *whew*

I looked for that seller just now and couldn't find them, but there are a few people selling the old-style bags on eBay, but count on paying $75 and up. :( Sellers know they're rare and in demand. I can send you a couple eBay links by DM if you like; let me know.

Aww thanks - but I blew my pin budget for the month and can't afford to buy one of those older style bags right now - but ugh the newer style pages are just awful - can't stand them!

Totally agrees that these older bags are great and the newer ones are....not. The new ones have smaller pages so they fit less and the way they are constructed makes it very awkward to get the backs on/off the pins. And you can’t use cork or whatever instead since the way the pages are you would need two per page rather than one like it used to be and they would get way too fat.

Disney- PLEASE bring back the old bags!!

Sorry for the hijack. Back to your search! :D

I probably need to work on tracking down an old bag or two, as well. I'm not 100% sure on my current status. I use the old style pin bags for my Hidden Mickey pins, and I use the old style binders (the black ones with the padded cover) for the majority of my pins. I was sweating about finding more binders, but one of my Dad's friends buys Disney collections and so I got about a dozen through them. They sometimes get pin bags too. But the ones I've seen, tend to have been well-handled. The outsides all look good, but the pages have definitely been flipped and opened a lot of times so they are limper then fresher bags. I can keep an eye out through my friend, but it might take awhile. They don't always get pins, and when they do they may be loose or on boards, not in bags that they want to resell.

^ Yeah, finding a "new" old bag is like a unicorn. That's why I was looking for even just a 'gently used' one. And that's still better than the crappy new style pages - I don't have big hands by any definition and I can still barely squeeze them down into those rubbery new pages. And apparently by 'new' that means the last 7 or 8 years! Weirdly though, as a PSA - the current square medium sized Jack Skellington pin bag (which is what I've been using for my Marvel pins but I've outgrown it now), has the old style felt pages! So for those looking for a not-large bag with good pages, I do recommend that bag!

My friend has an ebay search on, so she snags any old style bags when she can for $30-40, but I don't think she's found any in a while...
I bit the bullet and ordered a Pinfolio bag, and I've been pretty happy with it honestly! I bought one of their big backpack "show pro" bags, since I lug my traders to the park and the straps are nice and thick and strong and it has done wonders for not killing my back when I want to just come and leisurely pin trade!
