I am actually really disappointed in both the Thor and the Frozen pins :( I would have liked more characters from Thor, and more single character pins for Frozen.

This is what I think about those particular movies:

"Planes" pins didn't blow up cuz we all KNEW it wasn't going to be a good movie. And it wasn't. No crazy pin fever. DSF still has some left over. Will probably go down to .99 cents in the near future.

"Monsters U" didn't blow up because it was a sequel to what we are already familiar with. Also, movie wasn't as good as the first one. So also, no crazy pin fever.

"Frozen" is/has:

About royalty/princesses= people are going to like
About magical powers=people are going to like
About family=people are going to like
A dopey sidekick=people are going to like
A brand new Disney animation movie (well, the concept is not new, but still)=people are going to like

It also seems funny so that's always a good thing in my book.

I understand some people going overboard about how much they think they love something, but then again, we have signatures with our most wanted pins because.....?

Well i will start begging for the Thor pins already my new holy grails since i got my Iron Man 3 set already just last week. I really need theses to keep my DSF Marvel pins going and i collect Marvel comics to boot. So any help will be welcomed with open arms. Thanks in advance.
 
Thankfully none I need for November, although I will say those frozen pins look really cute, I can see them being super popular!
Good luck everyone who needs them. I will keep my fingers crossed for an up pin of some description in the December flyer :)

You know normally I find your posts controversial and I can't help but ask myself "was that really necessary?" but this time I agree with you 100%. If everyone who liked the movie just stayed quiet about it and the resellers didn't know it was going to blow up, the prices wouldn't be so bad right out of the gate BUT since everyone is hyping it up to the point of no return, when the prices start at $300 for the set, no complaining that the resellers are being greedy, they just read the forums :lol:

I think an even better is example than those 2 is WiR. Nobody thought WiR would be as good as it was so it went completely underhyped when it came out and the prices were poor as anything (surprise King Candy at $30-$50 at best). Then it came out on DVD, everybody saw it, loved it, and now the prices are sky-rocketed high.

I agree about the single character pins. The only character we have a single character pin of is Olaf and don't get me wrong, but we have enough of single Olaf pins. There is one from DLP, the booster pack one, the Opening Day, and now this?!?? That's 4 just Olaf pins while we only have 1 of Elsa and Anna (booster pack) and no single Kristoff. Disney sure is betting a lot of money on Olaf being the next big thing O_O

Tangled didn't hit it big for a few years after the release so there's an even better example :)

I like the Frozen marquee, Anna & Elsa, and the guys (sorry, forgot their names already!). For Thor, only the marquee and Thor himself (now if they have Chris Hemsworth there for the release, I will play hooky from work!)
 
Maybe Disney expects Olaf to be the next Pascal or Vanellope? I don't much care for him. Very happy the Marquee is the princesses!! I can live with the little one on there.

I honestly was thinking about that and I have no idea what it could be. They already gave us an Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, Olaf, and Sven pin so I doubt it'll be any of them. IDK the story really well yet but if there is a pendant, crown, or something else really important to the movie, I'd put my money on that :p
 
I'm sure people will be buying these Frozen pins incase they end up like Rapunzel ones, I'm looking forward to the movie as I love the snow queen but I can't be sure I'm going to LOVE it. Hype will wreck this release... You will have crazy prices.
 
With a 9:30 am Frozen pin release at the new Disney Studio Store [assuming the remodeling is finished on time] and the very first showing of Frozen at 10 am in the El Capitan Theater, isn't there a potential problem with crowds and long lines on Friday, 11/22?
 
Those Frozen pins are beauties for sure. Olaf is my favorite. I can live without the rest thankfully. LE 400's should help with the prices, that's always a good thing.
