*Beware* Just saw a bunch of fakes being offered on Ebay. They appear to be the middle pin of the set (Alice, Hedgehog, QOH, etc...) Same old, same old cold seller.

Thank you for posting this warning. The Stitch pack pins have also been spotted being sold by a well-known scrapper seller (I believe these ones are mostly the stained glass capsule pins).

I wonder if other sellers have sold the fakes too though. If anybody can post pics of the back of the authentic pics I'd like to compare the ones I have.

Here are my Center pins which I believe are all authentic because I traded for them within one month of release. Sorry for glare in pics.

I saw also a U.S. seller that sold a few over the last few nights. Not sure if they are scrappers as well. They look very authentic.

Ugh. Makes me not want to trust some of the ones I may get from this point on! :(

My first six came from two boxes of three, so I know those are good. But I've gotten one more from a trade and a few more coming. Ugh. Hate scrappers and fakes!!!

It's such a shame there scrapping these pins I believe uk is the only pins that haven't been scrapped? Maybe they should look at the factory that the uk pins are made and maybe get these pins made their as our dont seemed to be scrapped

There is a UK Bay seller selling multiples of the flower framed pins from these sets too. They have one or two feed back regarding 'lots' of scrappers.

The U.S. seller has pictures of the back of their pins. but there does not appear to be a serial number on it. The pins appear to be scrappers as well with possibly the exception of one.

I don't trust that US seller. They sell scrappers - either all scrappers or mostly scrappers with just enough real pins mixed in to try and throw off suspicion.

There's a couple of sellers like that in my experience, oddly in southeast coastal states for some reason and they even shoot their pins in similar ways, I have a suspicion they are the same person or connected somehow. I also believe they bid on their own auctions to drive up the prices, early on in my collecting I bid on one their auctions, narrowly lost, got a second chance offer minutes after the auction ended, really really shady, avoided them ever since.

Just curious but what happens if you report a suspected counterfeit item to Ebay? Has anyone ever done that? I'm guessing that the seller can claim that they traded for the pin at the park and didn't know.

I think there's an option to report the item on the listing itself. But eBay won't care because they get their fees from sellers.

Is the missing number on the back and the butterflies the only tell tale signs we know of ?
Also, what is off about the butterflies ?
