I am new to pin trading, along with my best friend. I hope to gain new insights and knowledge from this forum, regarding the best and worst of the adventure. I have already discovered some scrappers, so the worst has been experienced. Yay. Not. However, I have already managed to start and complete 6 sets in 5 months! Seeking rares is very frustrating, but I anticipate the thrill of finding them.

Hello and welcome! What do you collect?

Currently, I am seeking the ostrich pin for the Bedknobs and Broomsticks set. Generally speaking, I collect whatever piques my interest. It could be one pin that catches my eye and I start collecting that set or it could be one pin that sparks a memory and makes me want to collect to set.

Welcome to the forum! Sorry to hear about the scrappers, I wish these weren't as widespread as they seem to be.

Yeah. I have also come across several pins that are "allegedly" authentic, but the colors are different. One in particular is from the 2010 Hidden Mickey Resort set. The pin for the Polynesian Resort is normally in brown and tan. However, I have also found a dark and light gray version. Does anyone know anything about this and if one is definitively fake or a rare mistake or ???

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

How did you find that information? I'm so worried that some of the pins I have collected over the years are fake.

I Googled it. Still no confirmation about the validity of either or both pins, though. You can also Google tips to recognize fake pins. A magnet test is one of the ways. I have not tried that.....yet.
