2012 Mad Tea Party Hidden Mickeys - question?

Wow, it's been a long time but I'm pretty sure at least a few of them were faked back in the day.

Basically, just always assume that the majority of older hidden mickeys that you come across today are fake and you only want to get them from people who traded for them at the parks at the time of release.

That's what I was afraid of. How can I know who traded for them at time of release?

Trade with someone who has been around that long and has an honest reputation and ask them when/where they got them. You're best bet is to trade for these at an event in person so you can look at them. As I vaguely recall with the fakes of these, as usual, the colors were slightly off and they were matte rather than shiny. But it's been ages since I've seen these around even at DLR and I'm always keeping my eyes open for extras of Wonderland pins.

Also, it's perfectly reasonable to ask if you can look at the back of a pin before trading for it. (Just ask before you touch.) Sometimes the back will show if it's a scrapper/fake: raggedy edge, or wonky printing on the back, for example.

Thing is, I'm nowhere near the parks - being in the UK, going to pin meets would be difficult.
