Ambassador of neutrality

She stood on the balcony of the U.P. building, sheer white curtains blowing gently in the breeze behind her. The darkened room that was her Ambassadorial office was empty, hushed and waiting... Not even the computer screen was lit. Sipping her Brandy frome the Snifter she looked out upon the countryside. Her country, her land, her forum full of people whom she would love despite themselves.
Her duty to the "country" was a self appointed one. She must remain neutral and strong. She must help keep the community whole. This was her mission, her goal. She hoped and prayed that never again would she have to act. But she would be here, watching, waiting, ready to help calm the masses should strife return. She would never leave these people.
With a sigh, she noticed she had finished the glass. It was time to head back to her private suite and get some rest. She walked back into the room, and set her empty snifter on the small gentleman's bar. The maids would clean it in the morning before her first appointment. Locking the glass doors to the balcony, she turned and left the office. Her nyloned toes sunk into the deep carpeting, the dress heels dangling loosly from her left hand as she walked to the residencial wing.
Passing Madame Secretaries office, she noticed a light under the door, working late again... She thought she could hear the ministers voice, and hoped it did not bode ill for tomorrow. Up the stairs and around the corner, she passed 3 security staff before reaching her door. She waved goodnight to a janitor who was working on a small stain in the outer hallway, closed her door and went to bed.
