Character Earhat - Mystery Hat - Second Release?

I recently traded for two hats from the second release (Small World and Steamboat Willie). I have many of the pins
from the first release and they all have the serial number printed on the back. Neither of these pins do. Did they
print the serial number on the back of the second set? I think I may have fakes. Thanks for any input.

I bought mine directly from Disney and they do not have it.

I have both of those and neither of mine have the serial number either. I got them new in the pack.

Thanks so much everyone. That is so strange. I wonder why they decided to continue without the serial number.
