Hi,
I am new to the forum. I am selling my dad's collection of pins. I check each pin on pinpics.com to try and verify authenticity before selling. I have noticed that sometimes I have a pin that looks like the genuine article but has a different release date. For example the pin may have been released 2006 and 2008. If I have a 2007 edition am I to assume that mine is a fake? Just want to know if pinpics is really that comprehensive about dates. So far if I don't see the same release date on pinpics for a specific pin I don't sell it.
Thank you, I am sure I will ask many more questions as I learn about pins.

If it is an open edition pin that was sold from 2006-2008, then your pin should be fine. If it was a limited edition pin that was only sold in 2006 or 2008 and it has 2007 on the back then it's fake.
