Hey guys!

I saw this pin in the parks yesterday and immediately had to have it.

I say this phrase all the time because it means a lot to me. Friends may come and go, but if you make it to "Ohana" level, you'll always be special to me and I've always got your back. Because no one gets left behind. Or forgotten.

Of course, I don't collect Stitch outright (there are MILLIONS of him, and that would be a costly collection...) but I had to have this one because it was special. :3

What about you guys? Do you have pins that don't fit your collection, but you had to have them anyway because they were special? Would love to hear some stories! :3

Yep! I have two lanyards that hold pins that don't fit my collections. They're zaps, gifts from family, pins I got on trips to the parks, or pins I bought so I wouldn't start a new collection. :) There are a few characters I love--Sgt. Tibbs, Cinderella, Rapunzel, the Muppets, Basil--but I just can't afford to collect them all, so I get one pin to represent that character.

My first pin was also a Stitch pin. I got it on our honeymoon to WDW... huh, exactly twelve and a half years ago today!

That's awesome :3 I have a handful of GMD pins, but I could never collect then (even though I love Basil) hahah! And happy half-anniversary. XD

Love that Lilo and Stitch pin!

I only have one pin that's outside my main collection right now: a Mickey pin covered in Mariners baseball logos and colors (probably from some All-Star game or something, I think). I definitely don't want to collect all Mickey pins, and probably won't turn baseball into a side collection anytime soon, but this particular pin has special meaning for me because I'm from Seattle and used to go to Mariners games every week. It became a home away from home for me during a very difficult time in my life. Now that I live in California, I don't get to visit home all that often, so this pin is a sweet reminder for me.

I definitely own pins that don't fit my collections - but seeing as there are 6 of us in my family someone's bound to collect it. Also, I call one of my collections "pins I love" so everything fits! :)

That's a nice pin!

My main collections are haunted mansion and pirates of the Caribbean but I do have side collections like outer space related pins but I also have many other pins that don't fit those collections but I just love them because they are unusual or different. The ones that I would say that would stand out though are a collection of small fab five pins that came on a safari hat that I got at WDW back in 2000, it's what started me collecting pins.

Happy Honeymoon/First Pin Anniversary! :D

I have SO many pins that don't fit any of my collections and pins that were supposed to be traders that I just can't part with. I also have WAY too many collections which makes it hard to display them. I need to hire a pin organization specialist.

What maxtrexmom said! I have several different collections including some that have split (Aurora was supposed to just be on the side of Maleficient, she's got her own collection now!). I pick up stuff that makes me happy, so I have many off collection pins. Maybe my favorites though are hipster Micky and Minnie, because they remind me of my folks when they were going to Disney as a young couple (well, older man with pretty, younger girlfriend couple is more like it) back in the 70s just because they loved it, not because they were taking kids.

My main collections are Frozen and Tangled. I had to stop collecting Ariel because it was getting too expensive to keep up with all 3, but I still have 2 or 3 pins I got as zaps from Ariel and also from BatB, and some other pins I think are cute, lol

Oh yea I have bunches of pins that aren't in my "primary" collections ROFL!! When people ask me what do I collect, I usually say it's easier to tell you what I don't collect  This is a very cute Lilo & Stitch pin (a BIG part of my collection) ... and I'm right there with ya about "Ohana"!!! Thank you for posting a picture of this pin ... I must now go add it to my wants list!

I have a ton of pins that aren't part of any collection, but I just really liked! More often than not, those pins end up creating a whole new collection of their own, lol, because I end up getting more of that character. Now I feel like I should try to stick only to my collections, otherwise I'll have way too many pins, haha.

Ratatouille is one of my favourite movies, but I never started collecting the pins because I found most of them didn't appeal to me.

However, this one captures my favourite scene in the film, where Remy makes Linguini a breakfast omelette in his apartment. It's from the Japan Disney Mall, and LE 100, so really rare. Someday I hope to be able to trade for it.

Oh my gosh! That's adorable!!! I love that scene too. :)

We don't really have a 'primary' collection & we are by no means completists..unless you're referring to hidden Mickey sets, but we did have something fairly cool happen. We attend one of our first Epcot pin events & decided to bring our pins along for pin trading during Thursday's registration. A gentleman from Paris looked at our pins and asked to trade for one of them...I can't even remember which pin, so it wasn't a special pin. He asked me to look at his traders to see if he had anything we would trade for. The only pin I saw that I liked was #87777. He said 'sure' so we traded. It is a gorgeous pin & appears to be tough to find.
