In the spirit of my college major(political science) and being tipsy while watching elections, I want to host a giveaway. The item up for grabs will be a mystery PODM pin. All you need to do to enter is show any proof of voting(a sticker, selfie, screen grab of a social media post etc.) or pretty much anything. I'll leave this open until there are ten entries or Friday at 8:00 P.M. whichever comes sooner.

*Please no comments on any candidates/political opinions themselves. I'm just enjoying celebrating people participating in the civic process not trying to bring any issues up for debate because no matter who or what way you voted I'm proud of you for doing it.

So this is a little complicated, but as you can see, my FB friend asked to see who had voted with a heart. My second picture shows I posted a heart. [IMG][IMG]

What an incredibly awesome civic-minded give away! Fantastic! Unfortunately I voted first thing his morning before starting my work day and have nothing to show. I will say that I was surprised to see a line as I pretty much never get a line when I vote. I was glad that everyone in line had a last name that started with L-Z so the A-K book was all mine. :D

Okay. I don't live in the US so I can't say I voted for your mid term. However I did vote (early) today for our Calgary Olympic plebiscite. On November 13 our city is voting yes/no to determine if we'll put our hat in the bucket to hold the 2026 Winter Olympics.

Sounds like there was quite a turn out for your election.

    I'm going to try!

I am so tweeked! You know how you're supposed to get a sticker after you vote? Well, our voting location didn't have any! I was annoyed and angry and completely confounded. Fortunately, right outside the voting location was... a bake sale! To make myself feel better, I bought a plate of frosted sugar cookies (you read that right - a plate) with red and blue sprinkles that I shared with myself and other folks at work who voted. It was my way of saying "Thanks for voting and thanks a ton for the stickers!"

My son was so excited because I let him bubble in my choices. I kept pointing for the sake of discretion but he felt the need to confirm every time and in doing so declaring to the entire polling place who those choices were. This was us...me pointing, him saying name, me shushing him...repeat...

I've voted in almost every election I've been eligible for. The last week, everyday I got home, my dad would ask "Have you gone and voted yet? It's gonna be an hour wait on election day." He even pestered me for about 20 minutes on Saturday about it. Well, I got my just deserts today, because my total time in the polling place was 5 minutes. My "I told you so" call felt so fantastic.

    Great idea for a thread!

Ooh, I don't have proof. We in Washington get early balloting/mail in votes. I voted 2 weeks ago. I also voted in the primaries a few months ago.

Here's a fun story from a few years back: my husband (Josh) is very active in the community (we're a small farm town). One year, a couple that we knew didn't like either of the candidates for a local race, so they joked that they were going to vote for Josh as a write-in. I said I would too. Josh voted for one of the candidates. When the results came in, there were 7 votes for my husband. To this day, we still don't know who the other 4 people who wrote him in were (or why).

Hi! I don't have proof because I sent in my early ballot a couple weeks ago. Kind of jealous of the people with their stickers.

Colorado is a vote by mail state (but there are still polling places if you bring your unused mail ballot). So we turned in our ballots on Sunday. I suppose I could dig out the torn off strip from the top of our ballots from the recycle bin, but I don't know if that will qualify as "proof."

Darn, just like Tokaji, there was no stickers. I was mad because this was one of the first years I have had to go to a polling place... since I got married my voting registration got all screwed up.. hopefully I will be back to voting by mail by 2020. I even got to take my husband's ballot in with me today. I do have to say that working so close to home now makes voting at the polling location easier. However, the place I had to go today was a fire station and it was a busy day for them... we got to hear dispatching for 3 calls while I was there. My brother is a fireman so that always interests me.

Umm, firemen... That alone would make me want to go vote. Rrowr!

I used to do something like this too. My mother works in government and I sometimes told candidates who she voted for...it was sometimes their opponents. She stopped telling me who she voted for after it happened a few times. If you wouldn't mind pm-ing me his favorite Disney movies I would love to send something to him and you for reminding me of those memories.
