This appreciation post is long overdue! However, I'm currently a) sick, and b) just wrapped up jury duty, which is a super fun combo, so hopefully I can get a late pass. I currently have a whole list of zaps in the works and went to my mailbox expecting to find a thingamabob intended for someone else - instead, I found an unexpected LBE apparently meant for *me.* Huh??

I immediately recognized the name on the return address: Tessa, aka @timeerkat. Oh no she di'int...

Ok first of all, I'm seriously jelly. What an amazing experience!! Secondly, it's not enough that Ashley sent me Anastasia zaps from her trip to NYC/Broadway, *now* I'm getting zapped by way of Paris and the actual NOTRE DAME CATHEDRAL?!? I can't tell you guys how touched I am that you're going on these super fun trips and somehow you inexplicably think of ME during your souvenir shopping. And the gifts are always so personal and special and perfectly tailored to me! I have no idea how I earned such unbelievably thoughtful and generous friends, but honestly, I feel so honored. <3

So the first thing I saw after the note was the chocolate. Ok, can we please address how freaking sweet and adorable it is that she spotted this Notre Dame chocolate in her box of candy and set it aside for me?? I mean, it's such a seemingly small gesture but seriously makes me feel all warm and fuzzy nonetheless. :')

Oh, and just for future reference, there is pretty much *no* candy/dessert/sugary snack of any kind that I will not devour. I don't have a sweet tooth, I have sweet teeth. (For now at least, until they inevitably fall out when I'm 30.) So I was pretty conflicted over whether to actually eat the candy or save it forever until it eventually melts into a bizarre shape, because literally every zap/gift I receive from anyone on here is automatically super sentimental and I refuse to part with any of it. BUT then my mom suggested that I just carefully slide the wrapper off, save THAT part, and eat the chocolate. Sooo I might go with that, idk, still deciding.
    (Spoiler alert: I ate it.)

Then I got to the gift bag containing the main event. Before I even opened it, I noticed the Notre Dame sticker seal, which I carefully cut out to save. Because yes, I am just *that* nerdy, and as I mentioned before, a complete gift hoarder.

    THEN, SUDDENLY...

WHAAAAAAT?????? Ok, so I immediately began to gleefully snap pics, and it wasn't until I moved it that I actually NOTICED THE BACK, which is somehow even prettier omg.

And yes, it TOTALLY has #EsmeraldaVibes!!!!

I'm definitely going to hang this baby up alongside my actual Esmeralda pendant replica (because OF COURSE I own one, who do you think you're dealing with?!) as part of my whole Es display area next to her pin board. But my mom also had the awesome idea to use it as an ornament for my Disney-themed Christmas tree this year! I actually do think now that it's intended to be a Christmas ornament in the first place...? But whatever, it's still first and foremost an Esmeralda collectible to me. Sorry, Santa/baby Jesus.

(Backdrop provided by @Disneychildwithin courtesy of yet another generous zap from months ago. See what I mean about zap hoarding???)

Tessa truly is the real-life Leslie Knope... I mean, right?? Like, remember the episode where Ann and Ben just flat-out give up because they know they'll never top Leslie's gift-giving abilities? Yeah, Tessa is just THAT thoughtful and sweet and Knopish. I'm personally more of an April (a weird, creepy loner with poor social skills), but that doesn't mean I'm not 100% on board for being Pawnee Goddesses together and chillin' at Galentine's Day brunch. <3

So you best get ready for me to return fire. And I promise I'll resist sending a box of trash. It'll just *seem* like trash compared to your gift.

***I also received a second AMAZING zap from another DPF M.V.P., but it's 1 am and I'm starting to crash, so unfortunately I'll have to write that appreciation post tomorrow! In the meantime, I'll let you wand-er who it was from... let's just say he's a real wiz at zaps... BUT THAT'S ALL THE HINTS YOU'RE GETTING. xD

1 - I’m sorry to hear that you’re sick, and had to do jury duty at the same time! :p I hope that you feel better soon!

I was getting a bit worried that it hadn’t gotten to you, but I didn’t want to check in and spoil the surprise in case it hadn’t yet. So I was relieved to see this and see it arrived safely. :3

2 - You are super welcome! :) I equate you with Notre Dame, so I was thinking of you the whole time I was there. :) I’m glad they had something there that I could bring back for you that captured the vibes of Esme!

3 - We TOTALLY need to hang out and be Leslie and April together!!! YYYYYYYYEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!! (I already have my Pawnee Goddesses outfit ready to go!)

4 - NutMom is WiseMom. It is a Christmas tree ornament. :) But there’s nothing that says you can’t hang it up off of a tree outside of Christmastime. ;)

Ok, I hope you appreciate the fact that I actually hauled my sick AF a** outta bed, crossed the room, picked this up, and brought it back to bed to take a damn picture for you. YOU'RE WELCOME. Only for you, Erin. <3

Ugh I honestly feel SO bad because I'm literally

when it comes to waiting for zap delivery confirmations! >.< I'm basically just a tightly-wound ball of stress until I know for sure that the recipient has their zap in-hand. If I don't hear something within, like, A DAY, I automatically assume that it was stolen, or got caught in the crossfire of an epic shootout and was completely obliterated by the bullets, or was beamed up by an alien spaceship, or that the DPF member has been kidnapped and is now in a "Taken" scenario.

...you know, totally reasonable stuff like that. So I'm incredibly sorry I kept you waiting! <3 <3 <3

But for real though, my family is spending NYE at Disneyland so imma be down there from like Dec 28 - Jan 2. So if you're not going out of town for the holidays and are willing to forgive me for being a terribly rude zap-ee, I'm thinkin' we fully commit to this... I'm talkin' DO THE DAMN THING and PLAY DRESS-UP AS LES AND APRIL. Like, even go Disneybounding/Downtown Disneybounding. Leslie's basically a Disney Princess, right? So I might go for a Villain vibe myself...

Erin, I'm obvs dragging you into this as well. I think I see you as Ann Perkins...?

But you can totally be my Burt Macklin any day. ;D

Oh, and there WILL be a "Time After Time" sing-along in the mix. Other events currently TBD. (I already informed my biological fam that I'll be ditching them for a while to hang with my SoCal DPF fam.)

PS: My mom loves "NutMom." xD

YES YES YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The majority of my family lives in So Cal now that my parents moved down here last year, so no traveling for the holidays. I am TOTALLY DOWN for a Disney Day with you! (My pass is blocked out during that time but I can always just get a day pass.) We need to plan our matching ensembles and Parks and Rec-related activities to do in the parks and quote the show at each other all day and all sorts of stuff!

Are you spending the entire trip in the parks? Or are you planning on outside day? Because Pasadena is about 40 miles away from Disney and they used their City Hall as the outside for the Pawnee City Hall. Just sayiiiin......

Ok first of all you are not spending your money on a crazy expensive holiday-season day pass just to spend time with me (same goes for Erin and any other SoCal pin pal who's willing to put up with me for a while.) That's why I suggested Downtown Disney, but honestly whatever works for you and Erin, I'm down for figuring it out! We're not staying in the parks but I'm not sure exactly where the hotel is, I'll have to check with my sister (she's the one who booked the hotel, and is kind of in charge of the whole trip because she's a total control freak a very efficient and skillful planner.) Anyway, we def have time to work on the logistics, and I'll keep you posted on the status of our plans! (Do you have my #? Can't remember.)

I'm actually thinking of staying down there a day or two longer than my family, because A) I wanna check out the campus of the film school I was accepted to/peep some apartments and get super depressed by how unaffordable they are, and B) I really want to visit my great uncle, who's 76 and having some health struggles (but don't feel too bad - he's being cared for by his 40 year old boyfriend. Yes, you read that right. You go Glen Coco.) I'd really love to shoot some footage of him just talking about his past, because man, dude has lived a colorful life...

Anyway, just fyi, I am already 100% committed to this whole dress-up thing, so you best not back out on me. (I might Disneybound in the parks too because I love embarrassing my family.) I'll start working on my April ensemble after my Halloween costume. I figure her Judy Hitler alter-ego is probably off the table...?

And ok ummmmm I definitely have to find a way to do a Pasadena road trip for a Pawnee City Hall in-costume photo shoot. Omg. My whole family actually loves P&R, so they might be down. Let me work on this......

I don't mind! But Downtown Disney works for me. So does hanging out outside of the parks on another day. As long as I have a few weeks notice to schedule the time off of work, I have the free time to spare to take off for a vacation day or two. (It's pretty dead around the office at that time, and the nature of my work means that not a lot of projects are happening at that time anyway.)

Ooh, that's an awesome plan with your uncle! And the other non-Disney stuff (except maybe crying at housing prices. ;P )

Dude, I love cosplay/Disneybounding. If we commit to it there's no way I'll back out. I could do my Pawnee Goddesses outfit or come up with something else. (Now I feel the need to re-watch the series just to pay attention to Leslie's outfits!)

Whoooo, family trip to Pawnee City Hall! :D And the Library Department exterior is kitty-corner to it in the same plaza, so two Pawnee locations in one! AND....here are some other locations around LA depending on how much time is dedicated to this.
