Time convertor? What do you think?

Hi DPF!
Below is a table from a website showing a time convertor which would help people in auction timings etc to know the time when the auction ends according to the time in the area THEY live in. For example: I make an auction and say it ends at 9.00 17th April UK time and someone from the USA thought well what time does it end here so I know when to bid?

What do you think DPF? I'm not sure if others would find it helpful but I would!

This is a great idea! :bigthumb:

As we also have members across Europe and as far as Japan, basically around the world, it would be great if this could be a sticky in Auction House or where necessary so they can find it easy to use as well.

Not hosted an auction yet but I would use the example below to help others check the end time where they are. There is probably a way to have it integrated visually on the site / having an auction calendar but for the time being, keep things simple :lol:

I'm not sure what the rules are regarding linking to another site so I hope a Mod can advise,
I can then create a separate how to guide with a link / or amend this post accordingly based on below & Moderators decision is. Please let me know what you think

By using a feature called Event Time Announcer, this provides a countdown until the end time:

• The auctioneer can put in the end time of auction, their location and can even give the name of the auction too!
• The link can then be provided under End Time details and allowing the auctioneer to keep own time zone,
• The bidder can view end time depending on their location by selecting Change Location of Converted Time

UK end time 10pm, 21st May 2013

Bidders location: Los Angeles, California


It converts to the adjusted time zones changes as necessary which will also save confusion throughout the year.


How To Guide - DPF Auction House Time Zone Converter

For the auctioneer: (form link provided)
1. Name your event/auction
2. Choose your time zone
3. Select End date and Time
4. Click Show result
5. Copy and paste link into your post.

For the bidder:
1. Click link
2. Check Converted Time, select Change Location only
3. Make note of end time & leave for the next person to amend
