SO since the other thread got cancelled, I decided to start this new thread.

Hey, a Sleeping Beauty doll only thread sounds good to me. The only dolls I am freaking out about right now besides the Designer ones are the Maleficent and Phillip dolls anyways :lol: (though I don't actually plan on buying Phillip, im still excited to see what they do with him). So on that note, what color schemes and backgrounds do you think the Phillip and Maleficent dolls with have with their boxes? Phillip im guessing will be the forest where he meets Aurora (obviously with a white box) and Maleficent I assume will have her throne room or the forbidden mountain as her background with a black box.

I am hoping Maleficent has a bright green color in the background, like her green flames . . . I think that would really make her stand out. I hate it when they use dark colors as the background, and especially if the doll is wearing dark colors. I bet Philip will have trees in the background as well (well, I hope). Less than a month now and we will know for sure!
 
I'm kicking myself now for not ordering Aurora back in July. Sigh. :hs: I knew she was coming out, but I didn't know much about the LE line and how expensive they get afterwards, so I passed on her, figuring I could get her on ebay later. Wrong choice, MarieGrace!! ;). Oh, well.
Anyways, I agree that they'll probably do trees in the background for Phillip's box. Or maybe the castle; or maybe the tower room where he wakes up Aurora? I'm not sure. :)
 
Still no confirmation on UK release date for the LE releases - went into 2 stores and they so tightlipped. Either they don't quite know, they don't know how they're going to manage it or they've been told not to say anything.

What stores did you go into in the UK? I could try my local one or email Disney to see if they will spill the beans! They will probably just tell me to have a magical day though!

I am so excited for Aurora, Sleeping Beauty has always been one of my favorites! I think that green flames behind Maleficent would be perfect, but I'm just hoping she might come with Diablo sitting on her shoulder. A girl can dream!

I tried the London ones (and Lakeside). They were, when i visited, either not sure or just didn't know. They had all details regarding the Designer Couples. But the best they could say regarding the LE Aurora doll was "oh, sometime in October.". As for her nemesis and Prince, none of the cast members i asked had any knowledge.

Oh, that's too bad you couldn't get aurora. But on eBay,she's for sale for reasonable prices, and I'm sure she will stay that way for a while. So you should be able to get her. And for Philip, I think he will be in the castle or tower in his fancy outfit.

Im sure maleficent will have a contrasting backround. But I don't think Philip will have trees in his backround. His outfit will be made to match aurora, and she's in her royal dress, and when Philip was with aurora when she was wearing that dress, he was wearing his fancy clothes in the grand hall. So most likely Philip will be on his fancy outfit with the grand hall as his backround, hope this helped.
 
Since I've gotten into doll collecting, I've passed on all the LE dolls that came out in the last 2 years. I was able to preorder Aurora and I couldn't be happier. She is so beautiful and I cannot wait to display her with my Sleeping Beauty collection. The details in the dress are just stunning and she is even more beautiful in person. Seeing her at my local Disney Store is what prompted me to preorder her. I couldn't resist.

i know, I think aurora is very beautiful in my opinion. I didn't get a very good look at her since the display doll was behind the counter, but she is beautiful. She is my first Le doll and I'm just counting down the days until I can get her lol:drool: What I didn't like was that her hair was parted, because it looked too thin and twisted. But I've seen other pictures of her where hair parted hair looks fuller so I'm okay with it.

I plan on deboxing my doll so I don't mind that her hair is parted, that is something that can be easily fixed. I'm debating whether or not to keep her in the box without the packaging or having her just on my shelf.

At first,I was debating whether or not to debox aurora, but I really like the boxes they come in, and I don't want to muss her hair or something. I also plan on getting the past released dolls and I want to keep them in their boxes so they don't get dust or dirt stains from her being handled. It will be hard resisting, but it's a promise I have to keep with myself. If by any rare, crazed chance I debox her, i will most likely regret it since I regretted taking out my designer Snow White and I ended up putting her back. So most likely, she will stay as is in her box to preserve everything.

That is the only reason I want to keep her in the box but I don't really care for the box. I deboxed the designer fairytale dolls I have (Rapunzel/Flynn, Ariel/Eric, Snow/the Prince) and couldn't be happier. I am worried about dust and things if I debox her so we'll see.

Have pictures of Maleficent or Phillip leaked yet?

I'm sure someone will post a leaked picture before disney announces them. And I read a while ago the dimension of the Le doll boxes, but I forget.

I don't think the movie cinderella will get a Le doll, she will most likely get a movie collector doll like oz the great and powerful, or maleficent. I really want to see Philip and maleficent, I'm sure they will look terrific!

Very exciting stuff to read. I'm getting very eager about Maleficent. Plus 101 Dalmatians is being re-released in February, perhaps maybe a Cruella De Vil 17". Not sure how popular she would be but I think she could make a beautiful doll.
