Alright, folks! We've (almost) made it to the first release of the new year!

Line cutoff is 5am, 1 set per person.

Currently available PTDs are Tigger and Fflewddur Fflam, though Tigger may sell out tonight.

It is supposed to rain all morning tomorrow, so plan accordingly!

Also, DSF posted this to their Facebook page:

"Pin Trader Special! The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf on Hollywood and Orange will be opening its doors at 4am especially for our Pin Traders! Show your wristbands or receipt to receive $1 off any drink or baked good! Offer valid Saturday January 12th only."

And finally, a reminder that Hollywood/Highland parking fees have gone up. It is now $3 for the first two hours with validation, and I believe $1 per 20 minutes after that. Parking is going to get expensive for these releases!

@timeerkat

Also, do we still get to validate our ticket for $3 for up to 4 hours during these releases? From what you wrote, it sounds like we get 2 hours only with validation.

I read something that validation went down from 4 hours to 2. I hope I’m wrong but I am going into it planning on only 2.

It happened to me at the last release. The lady running the cash register took my parking ticket and validated it and it was only good for 2 hours. Just make sure you give it to the security guy near the exchange table and they'll take it into the theatre for the 4 hour validation.

It's 2 hours for store... 4 for movie... And they usually give us movie validation... Right?

There was a recent change to the rules where I believe it’s now only 2 hours even for the movie validation. I think @timeerkat had posted something here and there was a discussion about it but I can’t seem to find the post.

Ok, I went to the El Capitan website and it says this:

“Parking rates at the Hollywood & Highland Center are $3.00 for up to 4 hours with validation from the El Capitan Theatre; $2.00 for every 20 minutes thereafter. The daily maximum is $17.00. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10 PM to 2 AM parking is a flat rate of $17.00 upon entry, no validation will be accepted. The parking structure is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, excluding Special Events.”

So I was mistaken; I thought that what I read earlier was a reduction from four hours to two but that must have been for regular store validation. That’s a relief. Sorry for causing concern. Though raising it from $1 to $2 every 20 minutes after could add up fast during very long releases.

Okay what does rain do to a release? (For those not here... It's raining)

It might mean fewer people turn out. Some people who would go just to sell them may not feel it’s worth it to wait in the rain for a few hours, or may bring fewer people with them. Otherwise it’s pretty much the same.
