2019 pin releases
Well I'm in love with the designer set from last year so I'll just be over here waiting for confirmation and hoping I can trade for it....

You like the theme/costumes, or the actual pins? I mean, no shade if you like the actual pins, too...but compared to the previous years, they were definitely lower quality.

I mean, the fact that they split the boxes into two was enough of an issue for me, display-wise. But then they also made them small, and they screen printed them on the surface.

The dolls were super nice. I have Belle, Cinderella, and Snow White (which might be my favorite collector doll that they've done, period).l

The theme and costume design was really pretty, the pins are alright.

How often do they release new Beloved Tales and marquees? Are marquees usually released in groups if they're not of films just being released?

Beloved Tales is whenever they feel like it. I think most new Beloved Tales releases are either surprise releases or monthly releases, and are usually multiple of those at a time. The last Beloved Tales release was an online release.

Marquees are almost always one at a time and during the monthly release for whatever the new movie is (VERY rarely for an older release - the second Tangled marquee was a surprise release during an unrelated Back to School monthly release). However, there is one time I can think of - the Animation Celebration DSF trade event I believe - that had a group of marquees for six different movies.

All things considered, I got off fairly lightly at D23. But I will need to track down the following:

Robin Hood Marquee
Prince John and Sir Hiss Villain
Heroines Fight Back Judy
Dark Tales Mim
Rescue Rangers set

Probably the Winston Best in Show and the napping Simba and Nala, Lion King jumbo, and Scar/Hyenas villain pin, too. Perhaps even McLeach if I can find him for a good deal later on, since I think this might be the first actual official pin of him (and only, like, fourth pin of Joanna).

I'm frankly quite offended that Esme isn't in the Heroines Fight Back collection. She's one of the bravest heroines out there next to maybe Mulan and yet she's not deserving of that series? C'mon.

I'm willing to sell my soul if someone can do near cost pickups for some of this stuff lol.

I don't live close enough to DSSH to ever make releases, and I've never been successful with online releases. Anyone have any tips on how to successfully order during the online release? I really want Perdita (and to a lesser extent Cruella and Roger).

I’ve only made it through for one online release (the wedding pins) and its was luck on my part. Good luck.

A. Not sure how I feel about the NBC set. I’m not really into cuties but I do collect NBC.
B. But the marquee is awesome.
C. I’ve had good luck with online stuff (knock wood!) and there’s some good traders in there. But...
D. They scheduled it for Rosh Hashanah?! Really?! All the days of the month and they have to pick one of the holiest on the Jewish calendar?! Come on Disney, you’re more respectful than that.

Also they scheduled it for the middle of the day?! Lol that's more of a me problem but still....

No fricking way. Those umbrella pins are adorable. Ugh, can they give me a break for my budget? I'm gonna need all of them.

As far as online releases go I've had pretty good luck with pins that aren't surprise releases. That said, my most recent experience was The Last Jedi releases and the movie flopped so maybe I got lucky.

I know this is, like, so last week--but does somebody have a clear picture of the 2019 Small World holiday LR set that was on the preview boards at Fairy Tails? I wanna get a better look at the actual pins but there is so much stuff to weed through and I haven't been able to find the pic I'm thinking of ...

FYI for anyone that is looking to trade or buy the WDI profile pins - someone has gone and made fantasy versions of the official ones. Same artwork, look smaller, have a UV coating layer on them (so they may be printed instead of enamel? I can't really tell from the pics). They're all over the 'bay for like $12. The seller is listing these as "fantasy pins," but sorry, these are just cheap fakes. Just be sure you're getting the real thing.

Thanks for the heads up! At least they're well marked as fantasy pin reproductions and no pattern on the back.

Those six movies were shown at El Capitan in the following weeks tho, it was all the Clements and Musker films to celebrate their collabs before Moana came out.
