Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, finally!

That catalog!!!!!!!!! It hits multiple of my collections and brings in new stuff to most of them (I mean, the first ever Rescue Rangers VILLAIN pin!). I don't even collect most of them and I'm tempted to go for the entire set of the Sidekicks! (I've been waiting for them to put out a really good sidekick collection!)

Eesh, registration is expensive this year for a digital event! Though the difference in price between the Epic and Legendary is pretty worth it; two boxes from a mystery set I would max out my RSP with anyway, plus an additional pin, which means it's only a $10 difference for having priority for the RSP. I'm happy we get to see what the gift pins look like this year ahead of time!

The notebook sets are super cute, but Disney, why you gotta make my inner editor twitch? Are you using adjectives or nouns? Pick one! It's that princess set from a few years ago all over again.

Amazing pins, luckily it doesn’t hit on anything I collect so I’m in the clear (for now). Disney has owned my wallet this year so I’m ironically very happy that there weren’t any must haves for me. Good luck everyone else, there are some really beautiful pins being offered!

YES THANK YOU. The GMD set is two adjectives and the others are one noun and one adjective. But sometimes the noun is used for the hero and sometimes it's used for the villain.

I'm genuinely excited to see how many IPs they included this year. Nothing I can't live without though. (But that Ursula's Lair one on the last page miiiiight be something I'll go after)

Meh.

They....definitely seemed to pick a couple of IPs and ran with them, didn't they? And a lot of the pins look small, boxy, and cluttered (a long standing complaint I have about the event pins). It picks up a little towards the end, but still...pretty disappointing.

Once again zero pins in any main collections- nothing fantastic in sub collections so eh

The Darkwing & Megavolt pins have me so excited! Doesn't seem like I'll be able to attend the event but maybe if I'm lucky I'll get my hands on those bad boys at some point after... If anything I'd love to have that megavolt pin just because he's so niche...

First thought - no Wonderland? Like literally none? In an anniversary year? #coolthanksforsavingmemoney

Second thought - that is an unexpectedly ridiculous or ridiculously unexpected amount of Marvel pins.

Thankfully, after first glance, I think Loki will probably be the only one I want. Which is not unexpected, but certainly ridiculous. :D

The Sidekicks was the first set that caught my Eye.

No Wonderland this year...RIGHT?!?!

I’ll be looking for the Sleeping Beauty/Maleficent pins. The Pivotal scene. Plus, if anyone is getting either of the box sets (Playing Cards or Villians Liar) and will not be keeping the SB pins from the sets, please keep me in mind.
Thanks :0)

There are no heroes or villains in Wonderland. ;)

There are definitely pins I would like to have for the collections. I spent today waffling... do I register myself or try obtain the pins I want through co-ops. Currently my waffle is at "co-ops seem like a lot of work... buying my own registration is easier."

I like the mystery pin set where you are able to slide the hero/villain mystery pins into the event pin.

I will look forward to finding out where the 'waffle' leaves me on 8Sept. (...and since 8Sept. is a busy work day for me... will I remember to register will be the question. Might need to set an alarm or forgetfulness will make the decision for me.) :)

I know. No Wonderland pins, but I am a bit happy. The last 30 days have been expensive with all the DEC and WDI 70th anniversary pins. With no wonderland (and with how much I should be in pin jail ;) ), it is hard for me to justify doing the event this year. I am interested in a couple pins (incredibles and mystery box set). I think the multi-plane pins look that they may look fairly impressive.

I’m feeling the same way. I LOVE the pin events but might skip this year. There really isn’t much to the virtual event and $200 is a heck of a lot of money to spend for a chance to buy pins. Especially when I am not excited by most of them. If I do decide to do it, will definitely run a coop like usual. Probably need to make my decision soon.

EDIT - Decision made. I really hate encouraging them to sell tickets to a virtual event at this price level ($50 last year was WAY more reasonable), but am going to buy a ticket anyway. Co-op is posted.

Dear Disney - Do NOT take this as acceptance of this crazy price gouging and an indicator that you can just have virtual events going forward. BRING BACK THE IN PERSON EVENT!!

Having looked through the pin list in detail, I have a few random observations to share:

1. Based on the pins, shouldn't the logo be Mickey vs Chernabog? What happened to Pete?
2. Is it my imagination or is there more and more Darkwing/Talespin stuff? Is that because people who used to watch the originals a lot (such as myself) are now of a certain age? Or is it more around the remakes? (There were fairly recent remakes weren't there?) Or just finally getting their deserved appreciation? Maybe they're trying to support their TV brands?
3. I guess Marvel is really part of Disney and they want to remove any separation. They still don't feel Disney to me. Star Wars either (sorry folks). Especially around pins. I like my Disney pins to be core Disney. Well, and Pixar I guess. And some Muppets. Shoot.
4. I guess if you are the Guest pin maker, you get something along your interests, regardless of what the theme is.
5. Speaking of the Guest pin, stop calling a 3 inch pin a Mini Jumbo! That should just be regular pin size? You should be at least 5 inches before the word Jumbo comes involved at all!
6. Nice to see they found a use for all the unsold mood rings made in the 70s.
7. Those Multi-Plane pins look like they will be pretty awesome.
8. Did they mix up the Recruitment Posters so that we wouldn't notice there is a matching Hero and Villain for each? Were they originally going to be a pair you bought together but then they split them up to make more money?
9. Although I am not sure what they were trying to say with Captain America/Captain Marvel and Loki/Infinity Gauntlet. Especially with Gauntlet saying Good/Evil so could be both? Did they mean to have Captain Marvel for that one? So then what's with Captain America/Loki? Where's Thor?
10. Those "How to Be..." sets are really nice too. Jes is definitely my favorite pin artist at the moment (no offense to the others, all of whom are great).
11. I hope the Pivotal Scene art is better in person than in the flyer.
12. I hope the Showdown mystery set is as awesome as it seems it will be.
13. The Face to Face set is interesting and creative, but I don't think I like it at all. Seems awfully violent.
14. Love the set, but shouldn't there be an apostrophe somewhere in Villains Lairs?
15. Maria Stuckey is pretty great too.

I'm sad to say it, but I think this will be the first event that I won't be attending since 2006, breaking a 15 year streak.

Normally, if I don't like the pins, it's okay, because at least I'll get to go trading. But with an online event, there's just no real benefit here. I don't like any of the pins for myself, and I barely like any of them as trading fodder (like, pretty much only the mystery set), and the price is pretty ridiculous (unless they're adding an AMAZING freebie we don't know about).

I'm more sad about not getting into Destination D than I am making this decision, which is saying a lot. I hope the pin event comes back stronger in 2022.
