Hi all!:lgm::lgm:

I am Kenny from Hong Kong. I just started pin trading around a year ago when I get my first Sulley & Mike pin from HKDL. While I've joined DPF (and indeed purchased pins from some of you) for around a year, I haven't officially created a thread and introduced myself to you all :p

I mainly collect:
  • Pixar (Monsters Inc/Monsters University, Toy Story, Coco, Inside Out, The Incredibles, Luca, Soul, Elemental, Onward)
  • Big Hero 6
  • Stitch
I also have some side collections:
  • Seven drawfs (without Snow White😆)
  • The Nightmare Before Christmas (mostly Jack)
I am excited to be part of this community! Yet as I am from overseas, it may be difficult to trade pins with you guys due to the relatively high shipping cost and tariff issue, and I cannot attend any pin trading events in person as well 🥺 But I'd love to purchase pins that match with my collections (and I got a US address for shipping!).

Thanks all for building such a fabulous and big pin trading community which provides sooooo many information to new pin traders!! Please feel free to drop me a message for chat and interaction🥰 See ya!

Hello there Kenny! Welcome to the Forum. You and I have some collections in common - BIG fan of Pixar and Nightmare Before Christmas. My favorite pin in the NBC collection is a chibi style holiday crossover that I had Chris Sarandon sign when he came to my town’s comic con last year. He’s such a sweet guy!! 😭 Would love to see your collection on day and would love to trade if the shipping costs/tariffs ever go back to an acceptable level. 🫣 I’m on Instagram too if you’ve got an account over there - same name!

These tariffs 🤦‍♀️
I recently sent one pin internationally. They have to pay $12 to pick it up. For a gift!
Hopefully, they don’t last long and you can start getting more pins your way.

Hi Kenny, and welcome! I love your collections, I also collect Inside Out (one of my main collections), panda Mei from Turning Red, and 22 from Soul. I look forward to seeing photos of your collections someday!

Thanks all for the warm welcome!

Just a quick question - I am trying to make my pin collection more organised to facilitate trading. I know that there are some popular pin trading databases which allow pin traders to record the pins they owned and available for trade. I just wonder which one is more “popular” or comprehensive and then I will just go for it. I would like to focus on one (or two maybe?) database at the moment as the process may take looooong. I would need to search for the pins on hand, and add new entries if they are not on the database.

Welcome to the forum! :lgm:

I like Pin and Pop the most. They are extremely easy and fast to use and their Trade Arcade events are good. I used to like PinPics a lot and they still probably have the most pins but I am not as active on them as I used to be.

I second Pin & Pop. I have tried PinPics and Pin Trader Database and found them a little clunky. The Trade Arcades are so much fun (especially for a newbie introvert like myself) and I love that you can add lots of detailed notes about your pins, some notes can be just for you and others can be for the public. And I love how it automatically updates when I trade through the Arcade, so I don't have to update them manually.

I'm probably one of the few who still likes PinPics but I use Pin and Pop too.

I'll echo the people above me. For sheer amount of pins in the database it's PinPics, since they have existed for such a long time and have a lot of the older pins in their database. However, my favorite database currently is Pin and Pop. It's incredibly easy to add pin listings to the site, so they have a lot of recent releases. Though older pins are being added all the time as well, especially when they do a weekend event for adding listings.

I use both PinPics and Pin & Pop. I used to do Pin trading Database as well, but found that it required too many clicks to update my collection and traders, so I let that fall by the wayside. My Pin Central sometimes has great info on specific pins that I can't find anywhere else, but most of the photos on there are really poor quality.

And I love how it automatically updates when I trade through the Arcade, so I don't have to update them manually.
Well, it removes the pin you traded away from your Traders, but it does not remove the pin you received from your ISO (although it does add it to your Owns). You have to make that update yourself, presuming you aren't after two of them. A fault in the system IMO. I think most times people only want the one so removing it should be the default behavior.
