So, one of my grail pins that I've never seen before has popped up on the Bay of Ease. It's so much prettier in picture than I thought, and I don't know if I would be able to get it again... So, to anyone who has done a grail sale before, was it worth it? I've never spent this much on a pin before and I'd like to know if it's worth it before investing so much money on a pin.

As someone who doesn't invest in pins but simply collects them for fun, I've personally never spent a cringe-worthy amount of money on them. I have spent large amounts of money on other collectibles though, and worth is definitely in the eye of the beholder. If you decide it's something you really want and would love to have, then it won't hurt to spend the money! ;)

Well, I sent the seller a message. Since they're in Japan, I wrote it in Japanese. Hopefully, they accept my offer and then I can just sell a couple pins to pay for it.

It's worth it if you're after the pin! Especially if its a tough one to get.
It'll probably be easier to re-obtain any of the ones you sell later on than it is to have it pop up for sale again.

Good luck!!

It's worth it if you can afford it. With that I mean, if you don't have any debts, etc... Buying grails is daisies and sunshine, but you can't forget your priorities outside pins. Be sure not to overspend. It's tempting to just buy a buy-it-now on Ebay if it's "the first I've ever seen on Ebay", but patience is key with grails.

Its so worth it - it's so exciting! And if you can fund it with other pins then go for it!! :) Good luck, I hope it all works out for you!

Just out of curiosity - which pin is it? :D

Update: I did indeed purchase it! I know patience is key in this game, but I've never gotten an Ariel grail of mine before. I contacted the buyer and they said they wouldn't go any lower, so I went for it. It finally came in the mail today and boy is it more beautiful than I ever could have imagined.

It has a whole spectrum of colors that is reflected and refracted in it. If anyone wants to see a video of it's majesty, I'll upload one. I know many people have never seen this pin before, so I'm more than willing to share!
