Sorry to hear this. :(
Still though, that's an awesome Bambi pin on the right side! :D

Sorry to hear about the fakes. We had a similar experience until we found websites like this that told us what to look for. The misspelling are a dead give away but without glasses, I never could read the backs well enough. The kids explained how to use my phone and blow up the camera screen to magnify the backs and look for at least the misspellings and the raised edges. I did see the comment about the magnet and not sure that is the best way to tell. A CM used a magnet on some pins we had bought from the Pin Store at Disney Springs and they did not stick. I would assume that DS is selling bona fide pins. Anyone know to the different?

Bam --
Please PM me about the Bambi pin -- I may be able to help you get a very inexpensive replacement (if not this one, maybe another)

Like you, I started pin collecting/trading as fun then realized it was a whole "thing." Also like you, I found out I had traded a lot of legit starter pins for scrappers. We recently found a ton of pins at an antique store and when we got home, all but 1 were scrappers or fakes. It's so hard to tell unless you know exactly what to look for. The good thing about this forum and Pin Pics is it helps give you tools on what to look for on your next visit.
