I don’t collect Mulan so I passed but I hope some of the later pins in the set are as easy to get

 

Had the pin and ornament in my cart at 7:01, checked out at 7:15 with no issues.

 

Forgot about the release and surprisingly was able to check out at 11 without issue. 3 for 3 so far!

 

I have back-to-back classes at 9am and 10am. Pin drops are 10am my time zone. Texted my mom in the brief transition moment between classes to remind her I couldn’t get the castle pin because of class and she texted back a few minutes later she got one for me. By the time I got out of class and responded to a few urgent student emails it was 11:15 and I checked out of curiosity. Site said there were still pins then and looks like it says there are still pins now so I probably would have been ok without the assist but I still appreciated it. Yay moms.

 

So ummm... what happened with this one? Site says it’s still available after a full 24 hours? Did the series lose interest/steam? Mulan LA barely debuted, one would think this would be the hottest pin out right now? Maybe people who couldn’t get the previous releases were turned off?

 

It has to be a combination of what @mybabykelly and @starry_solo pointed out.

I also think the lack of MerchPass plays a role in the interest level.

 

I think people play off of the hype too. If it’s not an “in demand” or hyped pin, people are less likely to buy it as a trader or think it has resale value. So happy for everyone collecting this set though. This makes it realistic again.

I was able to get both the Mulan Castle Collection pin and the Jafar Enchanted Emblem pin very easily this morning.

I wonder if they increased the number of pins. It is Limited Release so in theory they would have been able to increase the edition size. Maybe that’s a factor why it hasn’t sold out.

I was just happy it was easy.

 

Wondering if the quality issues make it not appealing, perhaps? No idea, but if you look the castle pins up on PinPics . . . they are really unwanted. As of today, for the Frozen Castle, it is 18 wants/52 trades. Mulan, 18 want/20 trade. That seems like they are probably not a good trader investment.

Now the stuff sure is amazing looking, but the Frozen pin and puzzle I've seen!

 

I think it’s more that most people who want the pin are able to get them at ShopDisney, and they are not dependent on the secondary market. It’s probably a pretty large edition size so that could affect supply and demand, too.

Who knows the mysteries of demand? I’m just happy I was able to purchase the ones I wanted easily.

 

Yeah I’m happy the demand wasn’t very high and I think it had a lot to do with not having the merch pass- I think it was a mistake to try it for frozen because the Cinderella castle did not sell out immediately, so I wouldn’t expect frozen to have either were it not for the merch pass.

I love this series particularly the journals, but I’m jaded by the fact that they have limit of 1 per order on the journals. Not only are They kind of pricey in the first place, but it means I have to put in two separate orders, pay twice for shipping and hope they don’t cancel one since quite a few Disney collectors live under our household.

With my finances where they are at, I had to pass on Mulan and the idea of collecting the whole series, and now my sister and I are just going to pick our choice favorites to go after as they come out. Oh well but we will still make it fun

 

A general question about the Castle series! Have they released what castles in the series are coming? We are wondering if B&tB is coming and if anyone knows when?

 

No release dates for #4 and beyond. Here are the castles included in the series.

 

Oh, 10! I thought that is was going to be 12 castles. Super choices! I see B&tB is last. We wondered if they were saving it for next year for the Anniversary!

 

UK release is 11/2. Haven't seen anything for US yet.

What do I think of Snow's castle? you ask.

I know that's what it looks like, but it seems kinda meh. They couldn't dress it up a little?!

Nonetheless, I'm committed to collecting the journals for this entire collection so I'll be in the fray with the rest of you.

 

I'm thinking everything will be better than Mulans.

I’m in between how I feel- we were wanting to collect all the journals but Milan kind of threw us. Now we are only wanting to collect our favorite journals. This one is pretty but finances might dictate otherwise whether I can join on the 7th or not

I do agree they could have dressed it up a little more - the color is pretty, but if they go by how the castles look, I’m worried some of them might come off very similar with color scheme

Pretty! Would love to see a picture of the inside of the pin, once someone gets one! Really like getting to see detail of SW's castle, as you only see a bit in the movie!
