2013 Fairytale Designer Collection
Hi guys! I hope you don't mind me hijacking the thread for a post or so. I'm actually a college student and I'm doing a 30 page paper right now on Disney Princesses. A few pages of my paper have to do with the LE dolls and adult collectors. I need some primary sources to give me interviews or direct quotes that I can use in my paper.

What I'm looking for right at this moment is for some descriptions of the chaos of obtaining the original Designer dolls. I talk a bit about the popularity of these dolls and the chaos that occurred when the Snow White doll was oversold, followed by the chaos in the stores (ebay scalpers, line cutting, etc.)

Basically what I'm asking if that anyone who experienced Dollmageddon and wants to share their experience with me for the sake of my paper just to send me a quick PM describing your personal experience with the chaos. I'm specifically looking for experience from those who had their Snow White doll orders cancelled and the experience of going into the stores to obtain one of the dolls, especially towards the end. I just want to know what happened, how you felt, what the resolution was if any and just whatever you want to tell me about that experience.

If anyone has the time to help me out I'd so greatly appreciate it! Thank you in advance and sorry for taking over the thread for a short moment.

Apparently others who pre-ordered and received their sets and have posted, have all encountered this issue. It is really odd.

It makes no sense that they would replace one doll from the set with another number. I wonder if there was damage to the doll with the matching number and they replaced it with another doll. They should do a behind the scenes at the Disney Store special on Netflix. I would love to watch it while I wait to (hopefully) buy my Ariel and Eric set.

This has happened so far with everyone that had preordered the set so it cannot be a coincidence that all of them had damaged Snow's that needed to be replaced. My theory is that some made a mistake and forgot to hold aside the earlier numbered Snows as a result they were sold and shipped to the buyer this is probably why every other doll has the same number except for Snow. They just didn't put them aside and sold them by mistake.

I thought it was odd that my local Disney Store Snow White was numbered in the 30's and my pre-ordered Snow White was in the 4000's. I admit, I did look on ebay to see if I could find my matching low numbered Snow White, I'm optimistic in life but this maybe pushing it!

I agree that it was a mistake and not just damaged dolls, Snow was the first doll sold this year. And then someone remember oh, the pre-orders!!! Im just thankful the entire set was not in the 6000's!

I also think it's just a mistake. My Snow White is in the 100s (yay) and I did not get her in the set. I bet someone out there ordered a set and is missing my Snow.

I think it would be cool to have the same numbers if you got the set, but at least it's just one doll they messed up.

Except that the reason I pre-ordered the set at the D23 Expo was so I would have all of them with the same serial number. That's what my designer princess and villains sets are. The first two sets came in a larger box that was also marked with the serial number for the set inside. I guess I'll find out when I receive them in a few days.

I do hear you about ordering the set to have the same number. I wanted to try to preorder it for that reason.

Uhm... well just checked my box cart# (which should be the LE # of my dolls) and that number is actually 4 less that what I got LOL. Oh Disney!
Not so upset about it I guess because Snow is going to my sister, and we switch Belle's soo... the ones I'm keeping will all have the same number

Great pictures. How exciting to come home to that big box and unpack it.

Im nervous for Ariel. Two more days!

I'm nervous too. I really want Ariel and am concerned that with the after market prices of Belle, the flippers will be out in full force. I keep reminding myself that it hasn't been bad for the others dolls, so even if more people are shopping, I should still be able to get mine. I hope we all have good fortune and link fairies on our side.

I don't care what number my dolls are, I just want them in good condition. Minor flaws? Fine. Damage to the doll or case? Not fine--but may have to be accepted.

A friend has offered me her extra Snow and Rapunzel (since I got into this late), and an undamaged Eric. While I probably won't be collected too many in the future, I will be happy to wait at the store for her, or even order online for her if she wants. Yeah. She's special. And she posts here! HIYA!

I will be able to manage to be at the store for the drawing and really putting it out to the universe to get them in the raffle. If not I have to wake up at 2:30AM to try online.

Its really only the couple set I really want. TLM is my favorite movie.

I really wasn't planning on getting the couples, but Ariel & Eric are my favourites so I may have to break my 'only 17" LE dolls' for this couple. My poor poor wallet

I caved and deboxed my Snow White and Prince dolls.

The picture is not the best but I ended up putting Snow's hair in a bun. I was going to have it down like the concept art but I didn't like how that looked. I didn't like how the braid looked either so I put it in a bun. Minus her looking an awful lot like the Evil Queen, I really do like her hair in a braid. It makes her look older/more regal and it makes it look like an actual designer doll (in my opinion).

I get she is actually 13 in the movie but in the designer collect she looks about 18. Out of all the designer couples, Snow and her prince look like they are actual royalty.

I like what you have done with Snow! And I agree about them being the only couple that look like royalty,so elegant and classy! Snow isn't my favourite princess and I wasn't that interested in her originally but having seen all the sets in person and getting my "must have" from this collection ( Rapunzel) I actually like the Snow set the most! I don't no what it is but I do.
