It always shocks me people want the Briar rose outfit more than the blue or pink. I mean I would like one in each! But the briar rose is the most dull and bland compared to the others also it doesn't have her crown lol. What do you think the chances are of getting an accurate Cinderella?

I adore the Briar Rose outfit, and if you actually take the time to time the film it's the outfit she spends the most time in over the whole of the film. To me it just wouldn't seem right for the fairytale couple Aurora to not have that dress - that's Aurora and Phillip's biggest moment together imo.

Cinderella I would imagine will be in blue. They've proven twice now that her LE dolls are put in blue, so as nice as a silver dress would be I'm not going to count on it.

So excited to see how Mulan and Aurora turn out!!!! This probably isn't likely but I'm crossing my fingers to see the LE Mulan in her Ping outfit

I just wish they used a darker blonde hair colour for Cinderella, then I wouldn't mind the blue dress as much lol. And yeah Aurora wears the peasant dress more but it just doesn't seem princessy it's so beige lol. It's kind of like Snow White and Cinderella's rags with its colour scheme.

They could also add the purple shawl to her outfit and have draped around her

I'm looking forward to seeing all the dolls but mainly the Aurora LE... I'm torn whether I'd prefer her to be in pink or blue

I only have the Rapunzel Wedding LE doll which I stayed up to buy (and wish I had the blonde version) but not really a doll collector, but I know this time when new dolls get released I'm going to want to buy them!! (only if I really like them)... I would have bought some of the couples dolls last year (especially Rapunzel & Flynn) if I had a job at the time. Too bad because if they were released in the 2nd group I would be able to buy them now lol

Here are my predictions for the upcoming release

Designer Fairytale dolls:
- Cinderella (in blue ball gown dress) and prince Charming
- Aurora (in Briar Rose outfit) and Prince Phillip
- Tiana (in bayou wedding outfit) and Naveeen
- Mulan (in matchmaker outfit) with Shang
- Pocahontas (in a fancier version of here tribal outfit) with John smith

also i am hoping for a designer Anna and kristoff surprise with Anna in her snow gear and Kristoff in his.

ln terms of the Aurora LE dos i personally think that she is likely to be in pink. However if they were to do her in blueit would mean that she would be released in both pink and blue with one being more limited than the other or maybe even a 50/50 split. Maybe instead of a Prince doll they may just do two Auroras one in pink and another in blue?

I just dont see them doing a blue dress on its own for Aurora, i would think it would have to be a special edition of sorts due to its cult following as opposed to the more popular pink dress. That and we have so many dolls thathave blue dresses but none are pink! Lol.

Personally i think pink is definitely a given. As to whether or not disney decides to pay homage to the blue dress is another story.

Polaris' predicitions sound very likely.
I wonder, when we will get the first pictures/information. I think last year was around beginning of August?

I'm still not sure if I should believe that Mulan will be in her matchmaker outfit. I know it's her iconic outfit, but considering that she was never with Shang when she wore this outfit, it would make it "wrong" for the fairytale dolls. I would surely prefer her to be in the outfit she wore when she met the emperor. That's more true to the movie and overall set-up.
It would be better for Disney to save the matchmaker outfit for a "17 Mulan - if they ever make one (not that I have any high hopes for this).

I also think the LE Aurora will be in a pink dress - mostly based on the fact that this is always the dress Disney likes to picture her with on their merchandise (classic doll, plush, other toys etc.).

I can't wait to see the fairytale dolls I want all 5!

^ I agree it would be silly for them to put Mulan in the matchmaker outfit when she never wore with Shang. But then again they always do her in that matchmaker dress, I hope they go for the outfit she wears at the end!
Curious to see what they do with Pocahontas. Maybe for Mulan they might go with her redesign dress who knows.
I defiantly don't think we will get a designer in the briar rose and then the LE in blue. One will deffo be in pink. Which is ok as pink is the colour that suits her best and we really have to much blue as is in the collection.

Curious to see Cinderella and Tiana as both the ball gown and bayou wedding dress are arguably the largest dress's that any princess wears, I just hope they don't look too cluttered with the princes. As to me the first wave they all look badly posed and like the cases were too small and none of them had huge dresses. Can just picture Tiana in a huge wedding dress and veil and poor Naveen stuck hidden in the back lol

The blue dress is actually more popular than the pink version based upon online polls and discussions.

I wouldn't be surprised if they put Tiana and Naveen in their Second Wedding Ceremony/Finale outfits. While I would LOVE it if she were made in the Blue dress, I wouldn't appreciate having yet another Tiana LE that is just holding Frog Naveen. And while I do love the Bayou dress, it could make her this collection's Rapunzel because she would block out Naveen.

Also...I would LOVE it if they made a solo Elsa in this style. I just love how it's an enhanced version of their Fairytale clothes with even more details.

if this is based on an online poll then i would say it is biased as those that are most likely to vote would be those with a stronger passion towards the subject which generally tends to be those that lrefer her in blue because they are not getting what they want hence are more likely to say something about it.

also adults are the ones completing the polls not kids. Im sure if it were kids we would have a different redult. Hence why i believe that the blue dress is considered more of a diehard Aurora fan cult following as opposed to the more popular and well known pink dress.

Personally i prefer her in pink because she stands out more in pink as opposed to blue.

I do prefer the pink too it makes her stand out, I love the blue in the movie but in merchandise the pink looks better it just stands out and pink is a nicer colour lol.
I agree with Polaris in that online polls are biased and it will always make you think blue is more popular but if you asked kids and general people then the pink is the most well known and popular.

I think that is the major flaw with this line, Mulan doesn't really have a fairytale moment with Shang until the end I guess. The only reason I think it would be Mulan in her matchmaker outfit is because at the end of the day it is a romantic line so they have to make them look "princessy" when matched with their prince which rules out the Ping. Also they generally prefer the dolls to have longer hair so for me that rules out the scene at the end where Mulan has shoulder length hair.

I dont think she will have the matchmaker make up but I was picturing something more like the Mulan in your signature. The one where she is holding the scroll with Mushu. It is like a glammed up version of her matchmaker outfit.

So really they are sort of stuck with that matchmaker outfit for Mulan unless they create something completely different which would be cool, sort of like a designerfied version of her armour.

I wasn't including children in terms of popularity. Children are easily influenced by family, friends, and marketing, which is why when they grow up they often change their opinions once they begin to inform themselves and make their own decisions. A lot of products that are aimed at young children come in colors based upon their gender. Disney didn't put Aurora in pink when they created the Disney Princess line because more people like her in it, but because they put Cinderella in blue and believed that children wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the two otherwise. IMO they underestimate children's abilities particularly since Aurora wears her hair down and has a crown whereas Cinderella wears her hair in an updo. Elsa is also blonde and wears a blue dress and children love and can't enough of her. While Ariel is the most popular princess overall, based upon sales, Cinderella is very popular with children which goes to show that children don't love pink as much as some believe. The biggest problem with Aurora being marketed and her merch being sold with her in pink is that she didn't wear it that way in the movie except for a few seconds at the end. It is very unusual for a character to not be represented the way they are in the film. It's one thing to sell merch of Aurora in pink, but it's ridiculous to sell products with artwork where they changed the color of Aurora's dress to pink when it was blue in that partciular scene in the movie. The number one reason why those who want Aurora in bue want her this way is because it's movie accurate, whereas those who want her in pink want her that way because they think she looks better in pink and makes her standout from the other princesses. Just because other princesses have blue dresses doesn't mean that Aurora should have to wear the pink version of her dress, particularly since she was the first princess to wear a blue dress. With there being so many princesses in the line-up, it's about time that Disney reevaluate their desire to only have one color belong to one princess. It's simply no longer possible to do so. It would be nice if they would return to using the original character designs since as time has passed the princesses are starting to look less and less like they did in their movies and more like plastic versions of themselves.

I agree with Polaris in that online polls are biased and it will always make you think blue is more popular but if you asked kids and general people then the pink is the most well known and popular.

That's because that's the way it has been marketed for the past 15+ years. For almost four decades it was marketed the way it was in the movie. General people aren't the best judge of what color a character should be marketed and sold in since they probably haven't seen the movie since they were kids. General people are not one of Disney's target markets since these people don't know much about Disney and don't purchase Disney merch unless they're buying it for children.

You are more than welcome to your own opinion with regards to the matter and can start up a thread about why you believe this to be the case but I was just pointing out my opinion in that she is more popularly known to be in her pink dress. Yes it is not necessarily movie accurate but there are a lot of things that arent such as Cindy's new look and Ariel's LE doll color scheme.

Like I said online polls are never accurate because those that will generally vote are more likely to be more passionate about the cause and these usually are moreso the people that want her in blue because she is in pink. If this was reversed I am sure the poll would say pink is more popular because of the fact that there are no princesses in pink and it would be nice to have a pink dressed princess. Either way the fact of the matter is that the point I was trying to make was not which color was more popular than the other it was that if they were to do her in blue they couldnt leave the pink dress out because she is always marketed in pink and is known more popularly to be in pink not because it is the more popular color but because more people are able to identify her that way. Also I would rather a doll that was more face/hair accurate than dress accurate as im sure they can make the dress look so amazing but if the face is not then it will be just like Cindy going to down the lines of Barbie with her LE makeover. Also this was just my speculation of the upcoming releases and has completely gone off topic now so if you want to continue this debate it may be worthwhile starting up a new thread and even a poll if you like and see what people say as it has always been an interesting topic of discussion.

By the way I never got it, why are people so adamant about the color of Aurora's dress? No one is harping on about Cinderella being in blue constantly even though her dress in the movie was white/silver. Im just glad they are doing a LE doll of her in the first place. I do hope we get another prince though.

This is the last thing I'll say in regards to this issue so we can get back on topic. I think the reason why people care more about the color of Aurora's dress than Cinderella's is because Flora and Merryweather fought about it in the movie. There's also the fact that blue and pink are very different colors whereas the white/silver and the shade of blue that Cinderella wears are more similar in hue. I personally don't like seeing Cinderella in blue and wish they would make her dress movie accurate as well. The only reason why I personally care more about Aurora's dress color is because I like her better than Cinderella and collect SB merch, but not Cinderella merch. Of all of the princesses, Cinderella and and Aurora have suffered the most from redesigns when it comes to their wardrobe and overall appearance.

Flora and Merryweather would be proud of this discussion lol. I think Aurora's blue dress is prettier on her, but I would assume that Disney would put her in the pink dress for the 17 inch limited edition doll. She has been marketed in the pink dress for years so it would only make sense. Plus, even though I like the blue more, I still think she looks beautiful in the pink dress. I just want Maleficent so this doesn't really matter to me XD.

As for Mulan wearing the matchmaker outfit for the Designer line, I personally don't want that but I would still buy it. Mulan is my favorite princess, so I told myself that if I could only get one, it would be her. I want Mulan to wear the outfit that she wears at the end of the film, but we will have to wait and see. The matchmaker outfit without the makeup would still be pretty, but I just prefer that last outfit she wears.

I am very excited for the 17 inch dolls and the Designer line . I can't wait till pictures show up online! Sorry if its already been asked, but when does doll season normally start?

I believe this year we should see the LE Aurora come out for preorder early August because her doll wont be coming out until Oct 7 whereas TLM came out Oct 1 last year so the preorder was on July 29 (I think) so we should see this a week later this year to coincide with the week later release of the bluray.

We should then start seeing details about the designer doll coming out early August (last year the merchandise went on sale August 12 the day after the D23 expo) so this year we should see them being release around mid to late August with the first doll set being released around the end of August and fortnightly after that. In terms of info we should be getting information about the designer line around late July early August, I remember last year we were just getting over the buzz of the LE Ariel preorder when we suddenly got hit with news of the new designer line for the year, so they are not too far apart.

TheDisneyFanatic, I like you. Those are my thoughts exactly! I like the blue more, but think she'll be in pink...but don't care what they pick because I just want...no...NEED the Maleficent doll. <3 My ideal would be that the box is Black with Emerald Green accents and details on the outside, and then just a bunch of green flames and thorn-vines as the background...with her in all of her *CARTOON* glory. If they feel that they just "must" do a combination of cartoon and live action, then I hope it is the cartoon character face and staff, but I would be totally fine if they added in the leather and dragon skin details on her head/wrap/cowl and robes. That would look EPIC!!

...wait...what is this thread about again? *looks down* Oops...sorry.

Um...
I really want to see how they do the Tiana and Naveen pairing. I love them dearly and can't wait to see them. I think they are the only two I will want to buy. <3
...but I still also want a solo Designer Fairytale Elsa. I just love this design style. <3

Polaris, you are correct, the LE Ariel preorder was July 29. I remember because I had my baby July 28 and had to have my sister order her online for me. I am a hardcore Little Mermaid fan and was looking forward to the Ariel doll over a year before the pre-order! SO, when my baby went past her due date (9 days), I knew she was going to come on the 28th just because I wanted that doll so much! Sounds weird, but I was right and luckily my sister got her for me with no problems!
As for the Designer dolls, I REALLY hope they do a surprise addition with Anna and Kristoff . . . that would be awesome! I also can't wait to see Aurora and Cinderella.
