2014 Designer Dolls - Fairytale Collection Part II

I'm so tempted to get the Aurora/Phillip journal and mug! Keep telling myself I have far too many mugs that I don't use and just store in cupboards and journals I don't use so will just end up in cupboard lol but they are pretty!

I feel the same way....I have mugs from art of Ariel that are still in their shipper box and the set of last years designer collection, still wrapped up and in the shopping bag!! I promised myself no more HOARDING! LMBO! Especially, since I'm in the middle of packing for a move and I'm so over all my stuff:/ I never bought any if the journals because I know I wouldn't use them.....
 
I hate hoarding and clutter and always try to just buy things that I am either going to use or display. I got the designer villain journals and their just in a box as I won't use them.

Have to keep reminding my self that I don't need everything that's pretty, if it's not going leave it's shipper then I don't need it. Harder said than done sometimes though lol

Usually what I do is that I just buy what I'm contemplating on. If I don't like it I can always return it, right? Better to buy now than to want later and not be able to find it

I am defiantly in the minority here because people online and everyone I have showed a picture to have said Cinderella is the nicest one and Cinderella is one of my favourite princess's but I just don't love this doll! Her dress is stunning, and her hair colour is accurate(finally) but I don't like the pose, and the prince IMO is the worst one but what bugs me most is the hair! I wish it was in a more simple bun but granted she is the best LE doll of Cinderella to date.

If anyone manages to get one those free leaflets advertising this collection and will part with it, please pm me


Edit just just seen your pictures, thanks! I think with a little adjustment to her pose she will look a lot nicer.

Thanks for posting pics! She's soooo pretty! I love her Fingers crossed nothing goes wrong ordering her. But I have been holding onto an extra DFDC Ariel just in case so hopefully if there are any glitches ordering *knock on wood* then I can just trade. My birthday is on Sunday, so exactly one month before she comes out, wish she was released a month earlier! Can't wait to get her!

I wasn't expecting her hair to be that complicated in the back lol! She looks fabulous despite how her dress is tucked under at the bottom (though it looks a lot better in this picture when compared to the stock photo).

I gotta say though, out of all the Designer sets I have seen from in-store pictures, Mulan is easily my favorite. I think they did the best with her set.

I'm going to attempt to buy the fairytale part 2 box set pins but I only collect tiana and aurora. Leaving cinderella Mulan and pocahontas up for grabs. Anyone interested? If I'm lucky enough to get them I'll start a trader thread xxx
 
I gotta say... These boxes are doing a major disservice to these dolls... And the final product of the dresses too.
Cinderella should have definitely been moved closer to her prince. Maybe even glued to him, that way the dress would look good.
Briar Rose's skirt looks like a mess. I don't think the material is doing her any favors. It's not as flowy as i thought it would be... And a bit too long in my opinion. A shorter one would have looked so much better. I expected the skirt to have an outwards effect, like Rapunzel's skirts and LE Anna. And I think I've mentioned this before, but the collar really should have been like the movie. This just looks weird.

The men of this set don't look like they have a lot of details in their facial expressions, which is sad cause I definitely think that the art is very expressive.

I ain't liking anything of the men in this set.

I wish these boxes were bigger to show those dresses more. I don't dare open these but I'm ITCHING to have Cinderellas dress all splayed out..

I can't afford a second!

Edit: Cinderellas prince just looks like he is staring off into the distance, dreaming of the food they will have later
 
I agree about the boxes, that's the main thing I dislike with regards to the fairytale dolls is that they look too cluttered. I'd prefer Cinderella without the prince then theirs more space for the dress! Would much rather spend less money and just get the girls and not bother with the princes as let's face it, their is hardly any detail in the princes anyway.

Still look forward to getting Aurora though as I do like her set the most.
 
Eh, I think the guys overall look range from bad to good with Phillip and Naveen being the weakest to me. I like Charming's clothes but his face pales in comparison to his artwork. I think John Smith and Shang look pretty good standing beside their respective princesses (though seeing a Shang doll with sculpted hair and not rooted hair is hard to get used to). Still I wouldn't buy any of the males separate, but as far as companion dolls go, I think Naveen and Phillip don't look very good, Charming is meh, and Shang and John Smith look good. They all look wonderful in the artwork though.
 
Don't suppose anyone has pics of the Mulan set? : ) I'm not sure this is something my local store will stock ha ha.
