2018 Pin Releases
I'm conflicted on Nala haha, I kinda almost wished they had skipped her, cuz she just doesn't have the same grace and charm as the others, cuz yeah, her paw is kinda bland.
I like the Jessica, she looks "Weird" because that's how she's drawn tho, it's a whole spoof on the ideals of what men thought women should look like
I think Meg and Pocahontas are the winners in this set. I wanted to like Esmeralda, but she looks way too white washed? And I dunno, she doesn't stand out as much to me as Meg does.
First of all, thank you for being one of the seemingly few people who actually understands that Jessica is a *caricature* haha. I think her character is way more interesting and nuanced than people give her credit for!
And I totally agree about Esmeralda. I'm really bummed because I thought this would be like the crown jewel of all Esmeralda pins, but her pose/background is pretty unexciting, and her skin is WAY too light. She's darker than Pocahontas, for crying out loud.
Jessica isn’t bad! She’s just drawn that way!
And man, does Esmerelda have some abs in that picture. Girl works her core!
I wish they’d done the red dress for this pin. I feel like it would have made it a little more fancy.

She makes Jasmine and Ariel's stomachs look downright flabby! xD
I totally wish she was in her red dress for this pin. It definitely would've been much more vibrant and eye-catching, although I think Erin is right about them using mostly peasant dresses for this series, I guess because they wanted to play up the "heroine" angle instead of "princesses." But Esmeralda isn't even a princess, and is actually a literal hero in the film, so I feel like the rule shouldn't matter with her.
Plus I just want more red dress pins in general (a red dress PTD is one of my top hypothetical grails.) Actually, I just want more Esmeralda pins in general... another reason why this release is so depressing is because it will probably be the only new Esmeralda pin for at least a year. And it's pretty much unattainable. </3
The heroine set is really REALLY nice, but I just went to that local bidding website and they're already reaching $200. Someone's even selling a Sleeping Beauty from the past set for around $800. I get that this is probably normal for 'that one site on the internet', but I WANT ALL THE PINS AND NOW I KNOW THAT IT'LL NEVER HAPPEN FOR ME.
Oh my - I just looked these up at auction and people are asking for hundreds a piece and some have been bid up to that much. Is this typical for these low LE cast member pins? If so, I need to move to Anaheim, work for Disney, and get into the pin scalping business, lol.
I'm not seeing it. What's wrong with it? It just looks like the protective plastic. Not sure if any of you have seen on social media but I’ve seen lots of reports that many of the pins from this Heroines set are very damaged and scratched, so those of you also hunting please be careful and make sure you see photos of the actual pin before buying! The Jessica is this raffle is a good example:

If you zoom, it looks like there *might* be discolored or chipped spots in her hair. But it's so hard to tell through plastic -- the reflection or dust on bag can be deceiving. I'm more concerned about Esmeralda and her depigmentation on cheek and neck -- but again, that could be reflection!
