Here's the good bye pin silhouette for anyone having trouble finding it in that cool compilation image.
The auction thing seems very cool. So does that mean the winner will help decide and design a pin that gets produced?
Yup. Exactly. Will be sold at next year's event. The one this year with Mickey in front of a pin board with interchangeable pins was the one designed by last year's winner.
I already sent mine plus I found out you can send one to yourself and it worked haha or I would have checked DPF too.
Thanks all! I got three messages sent and have all the badges now. Don't know why I care about something so pointless but it's fun.
I am not sure what to do about next year's event. I expect it would be scheduled for the typical "end of August." But the 50th Anniversary is still October 1st. Not sure I can get two trips to FL in, that close together. Although, air fare may still be cheap...
Glad to see that my Villains are coming back into the program!! I hope things are back to normal by then. I hope they address ALL of the Villains in the Disney and Pixar realm. Keep Star Wars and Marvel to its own universe.
So, the theme next year is basically "Reflections of Evil" all over again, with more emphasis on the "Vs" instead of the villains.
If anyone was still curious how many spots they sold to the event this year, there were 1,767 who allowed their names to be public. How many didn't?
They posted it in the Activity Feed / Discussion Area. It's another Tiny pin that is interchangeable in Mickey's hand.
From my informal survey, I think the vast majority shared their names, so I am guessing 2K tops. I actually originally said they couldn't share mine but changed my mind when I couldn't find a single other person who also did.
All in all, I think they did a very good job with this. I was more engaged and liked it more than I thought I would. Still very much miss the in person event, but I think they did a good job with what they had to work with. And I think it was definitely better than them not doing anything.
I has 18 badges and now it's 21? A little bit of Disney magic! I stand corrected AGAIN. The Goodbye Pin is a mini!
The poll questions they asked got me more excited for next year's pins. They asked for our favorite movie battle so it's a good clue that they will be focusing on a series like that.
So the gifts ended up being a single pin & 2 mini pins? compared to the usual 1 pin welcome/6 pin ‘scavenger’ and 4-6 pin ‘farewell’ that seems weak..
honestly I was hoping by getting all the badges we would suddenly qualify for a pin as a prize like we would with a scavenger hunt but oh well. I hope next year event will be in person!
We also didn’t pay $150 for the event either. So I was not expecting as nice of gifts. I wish the goodbye pin was full-sized and not just a mini though. Two nice, regular sized pins, plus the mini seems about right for the $50. But I wonder if now they charge $25 for PTNs, they figure they only need to hit about $25 value for the gifts.
