A change in Collections.
It’s been awful quiet on the pin front for Bruna and I lately – so we decided to take a proactive approach this weekend!! After much discussion as to what we truly wanted to do with each collection, we analyzed our collections, re-focused some of them, removed others, completed one of them, and added a couple. What resulted??
Well, our primary collection has always been and continues to be Cars!! However, we removed multiple Cars pins from our wants list – specifically most things related to Cars Land directly. We’ve decided to avoid pins that are ride/event oriented and stick to the movie. There are, like always, a few exceptions. We also removed some non Cars Land related pins that we just didn’t really like a whole lot…
As a subsidiary to Cars – we collect Planes. We have most of what has come out, with the exception of the new Jerry Leigh – Dusty pin, the booster set from DLRP, the movie ticket, the DLRP Pin Trading Night and the new Japan one. The Marquee should be getting to me soon. A revamped sig representing the missing Planes pins will be coming in the next week or so.
Of our multiple secondary collections, we decided to cut them in half. We’re sticking with 2 of them, and letting 2 of them go. We’re going to continue with Lion King and Wreck it Ralph. The same applied to these as does to Cars – staying away from ride/event oriented pins, or generally, pins with non-movie related wording (for example – Destination D WiR pin). We narrowed our wants list on these as well.
The two collections that we’re letting go are Monsters Inc. and Toy Story. Our pins related to those collections are now traders (and we have some nice ones).
Finally, what made us pull the plug on those two are that we want to take on a challenge kind of like the one we did with the 3D vinyls (the now completed one)!! The 3D vinyl shadowbox looks awesome, and we want to make a couple more shadowboxes that are strictly themed like that one for our little man’s room.
We are now making an effort to collect/complete the Characters in Sorcerer Hats collection!!
If anyone has a complete list of all the pins in the above 2 listed collections, please PM me!! Also, if anyone knows of any of these that have been scrapped/counterfeited/faked, please let me know so that I can be careful!!
We have reviewed and removed over 1000 pins from our wants, added the above collections, and also added many former owns to our traders list -- primarily Toy Story and Monsters Inc pins (I do want to take a second to say thank you to all those who zapped us great pins for these collections -- one way or another, you are contributing to the completion of other collections!!)!!
