I have only recently joined here as I finally made the leap into collecting. I know it is impossible to collect everything so I am going to collect animated Jungle Book related pins, Star Wars and maybe some Christmas themes. I purchased a 40th anniversary set of pins for Jungle Book. They came with the pins mounted in an attractive box. Should the pins stay in the box or stored/displayed other ways?
Thanks in advance for the answers. I am going through and reading a lot of the posts to expand my knowledge.

That is entirely up to you. I kept certain collections in their boxes for years before I finally said "I don't want them sitting in a drawer anymore." A lot of collections make or buy pin boards - basically corkboard or plastic creations that you can hang on your wall and display your pins. You can be really creative with them too, and make them in different shapes and colors for your different collections. Again, it's entirely up to you and how you want to display/show off/admire your collections! Welcome to the hobby!

Welcome to the highly addicting world of pin collecting! How you choose to display your pins is totally up to you. You can frame them, display them on lanyards, keep them in their original packaging (especially if they come in special displays), put them on pin boards or pin bags, or basically anything else you can think of. There's no right or wrong way to do it! You can also look at the Pin Showroom section of the forum to get some inspiration, as a lot of members here have very creative and unique pin displays. If you're not sure how you want to display the pins you have, however, I'd recommend keeping them in their packaging until you make a decision.

Welcome! I'm also "kinda" new to pin collecting/trading. I think narrowing what you want to collect is a great idea. Something I wish I had done in the beginning (instead of getting anything that caught my eye). :) Displays for me has always been tricky. I'm trying to NOT decorate the whole house with my collections, but then again I want to enjoy them. Lately I've been hanging any purchased framed pins and also creating my own. Seems to be working (or at least not driving my husband crazy)... :bigthumb:

Have fun!!
