So I was going through TheMadPinner's Jessica collection as he is parting with many of them and happened to flip pin 49693 over and realized it has an "AP" stamp on the back. I looked the pin up and realized it should be gold finished, but this one is black.

To my surprise it's the Black AP

Anyway I hate asking these questions, but does anyone have any idea what this would do to the value of this pin?

Or what a fair price for it would be?

I did trade pretty hefty for it but was not aware until today that it is what it is.

I generally consider ap's "another pin" unless they are Peter Pan pins (completist that I am HA) so anyway....

Can anyone help a girl out?

In my opinion, APs are just another pin. There's nothing really to suggest that they are intrinsically more valuable.

That said, some people do place extra store by that little back stamp and are willing to pay more. I think in most cases it boils down to the folks involved in the transaction.

In your case, I'd say that the different metal color is more important than the AP stamp. Granted, it wouldn't be a different color if it wasn't an AP, but the AP itself (at least to me) isn't what makes it special.

I typically view APs as just another pin as well, but the black metal make it more desireable in my opinion. I'd value it more than a normal version but I really have no idea what the normal version is worth so I can't be of too much help. Maybe 25-30% higher than the normal version???

Thanks so much!I usually believe the same thing, but in this case because the metal is a different color I thought maybe it might be a little different. I really appreciate your help!

Thanks so much! I thought that the metal color might make a difference only because it makes the pin different. I really appreciate your help!
