QUESTION Advice for selling complete LATT bone set

In my hasty determination to get the complete LATT bone puzzle set, I failed to notice two Tony pins were actually Joe pins, so I came home with 2 complete sets. One will go in my collection, but I’d like to offer the second set for sale at my cost + shipping. I suspect there will be a lot of interest ( my cost = $150), so I was thinking of asking for the payment plus a trade. That would help me choose who to sell it to and hopefully help me get an ISO.

How would you experienced folks go about doing this? TIA!
 
I think the above is a creative idea. I like it.

Selling pins at cost or close to cost is always a loss, but is it kind (and I love love love kindness.) The gain is zero for my efforts (time, mileage, etc.) if I kindly sell a pin at cost (and as stated, I do like to be kind in this hobby, but what I really want to do is trade with kindness.) If I trade a pin, my efforts pay off in an equivalent fashion. In a trade, the pin I receive also has someone else's effort behind it. Pin trading is basically trading your effort for another person's effort. Your idea above allows you to kindly offer the set at cost, but also gain something for your efforts. Nice.

And congrats on completing the set!

I think you just did it! Maybe post the same in a thread in the Sales forum and add some details like a due date for offers, a picture of the pins, etc. This is kind of a hybrid sale/auction but feels like Sales is most appropriate but one of the admins like @starry_solo or @Ksnuggles can confirm where it should go.

I suggest that, when setting your price, don't forget to factor in PayPal fees.

I’m not out to make money on my pins. I care more about seeing it go to someone who really wants it. I believe kindness inspires kindness, and everyone here has been so kind already!
 
Thanks! Good point about PayPal. I don’t think I have ever taken payment through PayPal, so I wouldn’t have even considered that,

PayPal Goods is the only authorized method to list in your sales thread.

You need to be a member for so many days to be unlocked to post a thread in the marketplace section of our forum.

Also, your proposed sale/trade is not supported by the marketplace rules.

As an fyi, when calculating the PayPal fees for G/S, calculate the fees at 3.5% of the total + $.50 and add that to the amount you ask your buyer/recipient to send you via PayPal to cover the fees (I'm really hoping that makes sense lol).
