Hi everyone! I would like your opinions please on downsizing selling some of my traders. I have way too many traders and only a few wants. I bought a lot of pins to just use as traders last year and now I have way too many.

Should I just sell on eBay or should I list on here first? I've only traded and bought pins, never sold before so what would you do?

Are people here still interested in buying pins off the forum or does everyone mostly buy from eBay now?

thanks so much!
amy

I'm in pretty much the same exact situation and curious about what others think as well.

It depends...if you're looking for ebay prices, most people will probably say go there.

I think people here on the forum are looking to pay less than ebay prices (5-10%) since here, you don't have to pay ebay fees so they want a discount

Lol...there's at least 3 of us in this same boat. I plan to start listing pins for sale on DPF & some of the groups on Facebook. Next step will be Ebay. My biggest issue with Ebay is that if you don't list for a set price, you could end up giving your pins away. Good luck either way!! You have some pins I would buy, depending upon the price :wiggle:

As a pin buyer, I always check every new thread in the sales board. I don't often buy things (because I have such a particular collection), but I do keep my eyes open. So my recommendation is try here first and then EBay.

Thanks everyone. Once I can sort thru all of my traders I think I will list some here and see how it goes. I think a lot I just want to list for sale just to get back what I paid for them so they aren't sitting in a box or a pin book. Does anyone know what the fee is for using PayPal as goods?

I check the selling board daily and am always appreciative of sale threads with tons of pins. Ebay is a bit more of a process, plus I think more collectors are hesitant because of scrappers/fakes/ect.

I sell on both. I think it depends on what you are selling. I sold Pooh really well here but not NBC. NBC seems to sell better on Ebay. Just my experience :0)

Same for me- I sell on both ebay and here - it's more enjoyable to sell here because you can work with people you are familiar with (or make new friends in the process ) but ebay does have more buyers, and so it's useful to be able to sell pins that may not generate much interest here. Hope this helps and in any case, all the best in your pin selling!! ^.^

I am a newbie both on this site and pin collecting. (Our son bought me a lanyard and pin and I am hooked!) I do have to say, that I really enjoy this forum and the few people that I have worked with. There are always going to be pros and cons to selling on eBay .... Pros - more people. Cons - fees, fees, fees. I have not ventured onto eBay to buy pins yet simply due to I am not skilled at determining what is real and what is fake or a scrapper.

Hope that is somewhat helpful
