Here’s a little something that I’m pretty sure is going to have you asking “What’s This?†every time you turn around. Why, you ask? Because this new collection of pins is titled just that. Inspired by the lyrics from one of the popular songs in “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas†and Haunted Mansion Holiday, this collection has been designed to let you discover something whenever you open the hinge, slide the pin or make it spin.
What will you find? Take a look:

These limited edition pins are bound to be popular, so make “final†arrangements to add them to your collection when they debut October 12 at Disney’s Pin Traders in the Downtown Disney District.

Special Tip: Be on the lookout for a lanyard medal and pin set as well as this special “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas†mystery pin set.
Now, as you know, every year anticipation builds as everyone clamors to see what the next gingerbread house will be in the ballroom scene of the Haunted Mansion Holiday attraction. I had the opportunity to chat briefly with Senior Designer for Disney Entertainment Creative Development Brian D. Sandahl, who gave me the ingredients on how he came up with this particular concept.
“There were a variety of things floating around in my brain,†said Brian, “but it was seeing a version of Jack Skellington’s house in Halloweentown that really got things underway, combined with a fellow colleague suggesting we include a train, which culminated in one of our best ideas yet: a ghost train.†It seems so fitting, doesn’t it? Well, the magic doesn’t end there, because our talented team of artists and product developers wanted you to be able to take a piece of this unimaginable gingerbread sculpture home with you, too. What came of it? See for yourselves:

This new design is a perfect addition to last year’s mystery collection, which was a huge hit amongst you Disney fans.
Tip: Brian D. Sandahl will be on hand for a special appearance at Little Green Store Command on October 13 from 9-11 a.m. as we celebrate this new release.
Will you be adding these to your collection?

Oh my God. Want so hard.

I hope I can find someone to get me AT LEAST the HMH pin...

Let me know which one you want. I will be at DLR on 10/12 for PTN at PPH and can pick one up for you at cost + tax + shipping (sent as PayPal gift). I can't get it signed by the artist though.

I need that Zero pin!

As I told the prior poster, I can pick up for cost + tax + shipping (US only; payment via PayPal gift prior to the release date). If it is released on 10/12/12, which is the date of the DLR PTN, I can pick up as long as payment is received by 12 noon on 10/11/12. It's an LE pin, so I am going to assume a minimum of $11.95 for the pin; hopefully more details will be released because it's in two weeks!

That is extremely awesome of you! I'd love to take you up on that offer. Hopefully we'll get a price on it soon. If anything, I can always send extra just to be sure.

Are all the pins releasing on that day? I think so, I think I might take you up on your offer, in which case I might need you to pick me up the Jack Skellington one on the top left. There is something so creepy about it and I really like it. Plus, I love how it is Oogie in Jack's palm but you really only see that if you stare at it for a bit.

starry_solo, do you happen to live by DSF?

No, I don't live by DSF and am not planning on going to any of the releases (sorry). I make my way to DLR at least once a month, sometimes twice a month. My next planned trip is for DLR's PTN on 10/12/12. I may actually make it back on 10/13/12 since a friend wants to go that day and will be driving (yay for saving gas). I hope we find out how much these pins are soon. LE's usually run 11.95-14.95, right?

The Nightmare pins just seem to get better and better as the years go by. I don't think there has ever been a pin of Sally holding a can of Frog Breath, thats one of my favorite scenes in the movie.

I looked on ODPT.com and they aren't listed.

These are listed:

""What's This?" Medal & Pin Set"
$26.95; LE500

I don't see the Haunted Mansion Holiday pin listed anywhere?!

So, let me know what you want me to pick up? Oh, and I do this for US only (for trackable shipping)

Oh my goodness, these are all wonderful but it's going to be so expensive and I fear the madness that will follow in attempting to get them. At least they have the wristband system in place now and hopefully it will be used for these pins on release day.

Should we just go with $15.95 + tax? The PTN pin is a LE500 and is $15.95 + tax.

Since there's an artist signing, when are they doing wristbands? That seems to be the only way to purchase the pins, correct? If it's an LE500, then 250 wristbands?
