Okay, so-
I don't usually post about my trade offers and such, because bad offers are pretty par for the course, and you gotta just let them go. But I just got one that kind of amuses me (and I do think some of it is language barrier stuff).
So, have you ever been working out a trade, and someone actually ADDS to your trade, making it worse for you?
Here's what I mean:
I got an offer of the DLP Roger and Jessica Jumbo for my Tangled PODM pin. Now, at this time, I don't really know what I want for my PODM pins, but when I looked at our Wants/Trades matches, I saw that I had a lot of pins they wanted (many of them LE 100s). So I shot back an e-mail with a ton of pins that I would do for it...
They e-mailed me back, asking how many pins I would give for it- I said 2 from that e-mail, preferably an LE 100 and a higher edition pins (like a DS.com LE 250). But I would have done 2 LE 100s, as long as they were both trending around original cost.
ANYWAY! I got an e-mail back saying that he would do the Jess and Roger pin for a Tangled PODM pin, PLUS a Duffy pin I have.
...wait, what? Before, your original offer was just the PODM for the jumbo...now I have to throw in an extra pin?
Nevermind that I said "no" to that anyway, and offered up a bunch of other pins instead. Apparently, all he heard was "I'll do 2 pins!" (not "I might do 2 pins, if they're the right pins...oh, and btw, the Tangled pin is off the table").
It made me laugh a little- I was like, "How does THAT work?". I guess it works quite well for him. Well, it would have, if I had agreed...
Sometimes I wish I were fluent in French so I was better at trading with the Paris folks- I try to use simple English, but pin trading can be tricky even between us English natives...
