I so enjoy pin-trading at DLR, especially with the little traders (children) and new Pin-Traders.

Why, because of experiences like today, where a little girl, who had never traded a pin before, saw my pin board and wanted one of them. I got to talking to her, and asked if she had any pins to trade. She disappointingly said "no."

She talked with her father and he said, get ____ lanyard, she's not trading anymore. An hour or so later, she returns and has the lanyard. So, we traded and she got the pin she wanted. The icing on the cake for me, is to see the BIG smile on her face. Plus, her dad told me, "that was her first pin trade." I said, well congratulations, and I am honored to have been the first trade for you.

I had several other positive trading experiences today, but this one, was the best.

That's awesome! I hope my kids will find a nice trader like you next time. We got them a starter lanyard on our last trip and they traded away 6 pins, only to find out later that 4 of the pins they traded for were fakes. :( We were too intimidated to approach anyone that wasn't a CM but I think next time we might give it a try...

That's one of the coolest things about trading!! I'll never forget bumping into a family in one of the shops in Adventureland. I had my traders book with me and let them and their 9-year-old daughter look through it. She found a Pooh pin that just made her go nuts. I happily traded it to her for something off her lanyard. Neither pin was very valuable but her excitement over the trade and getting what for her was a grail was really wonderful. Her parents just gushed over the trade. One of the most fun experiences my wife and I have had in all our time trading.

Thanks all, for your 'replies'- I truly believe in my heart (and I see that others do to :) that I must "Pay-it-forward" now that I am more experienced; and have a larger pin collection. What goes around, comes around!
