Boston has some pretty cool locations, and I wouldn't mind trying to coordinate a meet-up if anyone in the New England area were interested in meeting up.

I might be interested - It's a bit of a haul, but it's the closest a meet-up would be for me other than NYC.

We used to meet in Burlington a few times a year but that was a long time ago, probably 8-10 years now.

I mean there is a Disney store in Burlington... I wouldn't mind doing a meetup if enough people were interested.

Good luck! You might have more luck if you just planned a date, found a location (that would let you be there for the cost of a meal), etc. Then advertise the heck out of it.

So I know that this thread was started ages ago, but I’m going to bump it to the top again because I’m definitely interested in a pin set up in Boston, if any one is still reading this anyway.

If there is a meet up, I can think of a place that might work. To the best of my knowledge, Faneuil Hall has a seating are for the "food court" and as long as you can actually find seating, key words being finding it, no one would care if people met up there. Plus so many food options, that way there would be something for everybody?

Sorry I didn't see this sooner! That could work, I agree Faneuil Hall does get crowded and finding a place to sit would be tricky unless someone goes right when they open to claim some tables.

Haha YUP. I live out in the Worcester area. So it'd be a pretty early train ride.

No way! I live in Worcester. Want to just meet in Worcester? There are a lot of places where I know we could meet and it wouldn’t be a problem.

And I’m assuming that this meet up would just be between us at this point.

Getting back to what @jadeites-lady said, I think your best chance at arranging a successful trading event would be the following:

    1. find a location willing to 'host' you (most likely, that will be a restaurant* - and each participant very likely will, not unreasonably, be asked to purchase food)

    2. select a date that works for both you and your 'host' establishment

    3. promote the heck out of event - an intelligently promoted and operated event could generate interest and attendance from out of state

    4. (maybe) if you have sufficient interest from out of area, try to negotiate a group block rate at a local hotel/motel/inn so people traveling have an affordable place to stay

*if you end up negotiating a group block rate at a local hotel/motel/inn (see step 4), and said establishment has a convention center or ballroom, you may be able to use that room instead; try to negotiate the use of that room in the group block rate and see what happens.

I wish I hadn't missed this post. I would definitely be interested in a Boston-area meetup!

Some great people and great times at ones in the past.

Also very interested. Would love to have something this fall. Have a bookable conference room in my apartment building in the Fenway area that could potentially host a meet-up if no other options arise.
