Anyone collecting Monster Minis?

I was just wondering if anyone else is planning to collect/trade the Monsters University Monster Minis. I spotted them in Sainsbury's a little while ago and I just couldn't resist. I was so chuffed to get Sulley and then Mike as my first two! Then I managed to get another Sulley, oops!

They're really cute and very collector-friendly, being so small. I'm a bit addicted to collecting things (pins being one, of course) so I'm sure I will enjoy gathering up these little guys. It'd be awesome if there's anyone else on here collecting them; we might even be able to do a little trading if we get any doubles! I'm not sure if they're available in the US but I've seen them in both Sainsbury's and the Entertainer here in the UK. They're sold in blind bags, one figure per bag, for around £2 (or £1.99 in Sainsbury's, if you want to save a penny ). They also come with a sticker and a collector's guide showing all the characters.

Of course, being obsessive as I am about these things, I wanted to know how many are currently available and so on, so I got in touch with the company. Apparently, the product is so new, they haven't even listed it on their website yet! They said it'll be up over the next couple of weeks. There are currently 12 out, 7 more are to be released "in the coming months" and then another 7 "later on this year" (I am quoting their words exactly here). So that will be 26 in total, which includes two different versions of Mike and Sully - on the collector's guide, there are silouhet...sillhoute...:facepalm:....shadowy thingies showing the future releases and the first two look very much like they will be another Mike and another Sully, in different poses. Unfortunately, everywhere online that I've found selling them says there are 26 to collect, without making it clear that only 12 are currently out. Somebody hasn't been doing their research!

I had a look into it a bit more and I discovered that you don't have them in blind bags in the US, but on eBay there are listings of packs of four of the figures, three pack are available so it's the same 12 figures. I don't think they call them monster minis specifically, but they are definitely the same figures in different packaging. The eBay listing said they were from Walmart. So perhaps you can get hold of them that way? It could be good, as you know which ones you're getting. Although I do think blind bags are part of the fun, I find it more exciting to collect them. Not so fun if there's millions of different ones, but for just 12, it's good .

I got Terry and Teri today, and I also managed to trade my extra Sulley with a friend, so I now have Squishy's mum. The only problem is that it's making me really want to see the film, but it's not out yet! Curse you, delayed UK release times!

Yeah, I've found all three four-packs of these guys at my local Walmarts. They're only four bucks for four figures, so it's pretty nice

We have them here also. I haven’t bought any yet as I like to see what I buy...not big on surprises in that way. BUT I may pick up a few to try to get a Sully for my friend who loves Sully.

Whaaaa? That makes them so much cheaper than the individually packaged ones here! It's £2 for one figure, so about $3 per figure instead of the $1 per figure you get... Shows that packaging makes a difference, it must be much cheaper to produce packaging to sell them in fours than individually. Just wish they were available that way here now, would be a lot cheaper!

I've seen some pictures online of Walmart exclusive sets that include a clear Randall, which is amazing! It's also got some of the figures that haven't yet come out in the UK.

As for my collection of this first series - I've only got four more to go! I'm now only missing Art, Don Carlton, Rosie Levin and George Sanderson. If you have any of these please let me know. I can't wait to have the full set of 12, and then start collecting the next seven when they come out!

I got Art today! For anyone in the UK collecting these, The entertainer have reduced them to £1.50 each so it's a good time to buy. I would have bought more than one but they only had two packs left in the store I went in. Just happened to be lucky in getting Art . I will have to hunt in another store for the last three.

I do wonder if they've reduced them because it's the end of the line and perhaps the second wave will be released soon. Exciting stuff if so!

These minis are also available in HK. There are only 12 characters at this moment. I think they are available worldwide.

I cant wait to look for these at walmart this weekend!

Bumping this back up again! I now have a spare Johnhy Worthington as well as my spare Sulley, and I'm still looking for Don, George and Rosie. I can't get them in shops any more because the second wave is now out so the first lot aren't available any more. If anyone can help me out by selling or trading I'd really appreciate it!
