I just been browsing ebay and looking at pins and i noticed that the top sellers have over 2000 reviews and basically full stars with no negative reviews. But it seems odd to me that they have so many pins for sale. I'm thinking that these maybe are cast members who get them at a discount price and resell them? Are some of these people selling legit pins?

Also is there a place to buy 100% legit pins besides being at Disney land/world?

Most of the time if it is to good to be true it is. A lot of the people who sell pin lots for a buck or under are selling fake pins. They may have the "disney" stamps on them, but they are fake. If you see anything like this "tradable at any Disney park" that is code for saying I am selling fake pins and Disney cast members can't say no to them. It is why the Cast member lanyards are so full of crap.

Yes there are people selling legit pins, check the sales forum here.

Many are legit, but there are also those that sell counterfeit. Some have turned being Disney pin resellers into a full time job. There are other threads on things to look for when trying to determine if a pin is real or not.

Depends on the pins they are selling... If it's a ton of basic mickeys or starter pins etc they are most likely of questionable origin.. If it's a variety of pins spanning different years, prob some one selling off theirs or others collections..

Ive sold hundreds of pins online and 99.999% are legitimate purchased pins (had one of questionable origin, disclosed as such) etc if people have been in the hobby forever they may have a ton to sell etc but you can usually find a pattern to their sales I.e similar characters, years of Orgin etc..

When in doubt ask questions. A good seller has no prob sending more info/pics.

I've bought from sellers who basically do as you said, buy collections at cheap and then resell the pins individually, but no matter who I am buying from I always require good photos of the pin that I want, and I study them carefully against other authentic pin photos elsewhere before considering to buy them. I've even found some legit pin sellers I've dealt with in the past accidentally throw up a fake unknowingly from time to time. I'm sure it's hard to keep track when dealing with so many.

I would say 99% of cheap "lots" are bad pins though.

And I am weary of sellers who have many of a specific LE for sale, or have sold many of one pin in the past.

Depending on what you are collecting, you might start to notice the same names pop up, and get to know who to trust and who is just full of poop, lol.

All good responses. I have also noticed the "100% tradeable" language in listings and that the pins pictured may not be the ones you receive. So, I would add to make sure that the pins pictured ARE the ones you are buying.

Yeah i assumed the "tradeable" are fake and along with the huge lots. A lot of the sellers im looking at are selling individual pins with the cards still. Not really bidding on crazy priced items, just a few to finish a set.
