Hi!

So, now that Duffy has seemed to catch the attention of the scrapper makers, I'm having a hard time finding DLR ones that are real. To give you an idea, I was at MGM yesterday, and saw no less than 4 Duffy Peter Pan "chasers" on cast lanyards, plus a ton of DLR ones that I'm pretty sure weren't likely to be on a WDW lanyard.

I'd like to trade with someone who can see the difference between the real and scrapper versions to trade with- to me, it's obvious when you look at them. And with two completer pins, we have an official sample to use for comparisons.

My luck at local PTNs hasn't been good, even with people from DLR...they all have bad look to them. At one point, I thought that maybe the DLR ones were just produced that way, but after looking at the train completer, I don't think that's the case anymore...I just think they got scrapped more heavily than the WDW versions.

You can e-mail me at utena28@hotmail.com if you have official versions (and you're as sure as you can be, as in you've compared them against a completer).

Thanks!

I'm also collecting Duffy, and the past two times I have been to DLR for hidden mickey hunting, I always ALWAYS find numerous scrapper Jafar hat regulars and chasers. Each time, I get super excited to see it on there (because the front of the pins look so good), then turn it over to see the border around the edge of the pin. It's very disappointing. As it is, I am also having a hard time putting the set together.

If I ever am able to find any real ones, let alone duplicates, I'll let you know. We gotta stick together

I have some I haven't added to Pinpics yet, I don't have anything to compare them to, not being a Duffy collector myself. Which ones are you after? I'm not sure if mine are DLR or WDW.

Becky, which ones do you need too?

Hey, guys!

Okay, these are the DLR ones we're looking for:

I actually have some authentic ones and some suspected scrappers that I can do a side-by-side picture comparison with- I'll post it when I get some free time.

The best way to tell fake DLR ones from real ones are the mickey head pattern on the backside. ALL of the fake ones have an edge around the backside, so the mickey heads do not go to the edge. The fronts all look good though - no paint dips, so you HAVE to look at the backside.

Also, you should note: the color of Duffy's fur, both his head and his face, is slightly different between the two years. My 2012 DLR Duffies have slightly darker/warmer browns than 2013's. The 2013 face is a tiny TINY bit paler.

I'm actually missing a lot - despite all of my searching, I am rarely finding real Duffy heads. I did find two yesterday, though, on my trip to DLR! Super jazzed.

@vicki, thank you so much for your attention! You are too kind. Let me know if we can trade! The ones I am missing are:
WDW 2013

DLR 2013

WDW 2012

DLR 2012

I just love these duffy heads! I think they are the favorite page in my book

I have a few extras that I haven't sold. I will go look and find which ones they are (even authentic chasers!)
