Hi everyone!

I used to be active here for a stretch that I’m seeing now was almost 8 years (!!!) ago - so it felt like I should re-introduce myself!

Life has changed a lot since I was last here & my pin collection has taken a bit of a back seat, but I’ve recently been trying to downsize things across the board & it brought my pins back to the forefront lol! And with that, I’m learning that the pin trading game has changed significantly!

I typically collect Lion King and Hades pins & for awhile was really into trying to collect Marvel/MCU pins, though I’ve dropped off of those a bit now.

I look forward to meeting new people here, & learning from everyone!

Hello! My youngest child (now 12) used to collect Lion King, Simba was (maybe still is?) her favorite Disney character. I'd love to see photos of some of your favorite pins!

Hi! So here is most of the Lion King pins I have:

I think my favorites are probably these 2 though:

Having only done this for a couple of years, and apparently coming in right when resellers have been scooping everything up, I’d love to hear your impressions on what has changed and what has stayed the same.

So for me, it’s weird because when I kind of dropped of the map, you pretty much had the options of getting pins from the Parks, DCL, DSF/DSSH, and then WDI/MoG, DEC (somehow) & D23. BoxLunch might’ve just started releasing pins. But now it feels like there are so many other outlets releasing pins! I had no idea what Pink A La Mode was until a couple weeks ago & at first I thought they were Fantasy pins lol. And it’s cool, but it’s also kinda overwhelming a little.

And to your point re: resellers, since I never lived near the parks, most of the time if I got something near release it was either if I happened to be on a trip, a family member happened to be on a trip, or I had someone here do a pickup for me when they were offered. And like if it was an edition size of like 1000/1500 or more I feel like it wasn’t really a problem - you’d probably be able to get one. From what I see now, even that’s not guaranteed. I mean heck, I think I’ve seen the Keyblade series from this year are LE 4000 & were impossible to get.

And resellers have always been a thing since I’ve been around, especially when it came to the RSPs for the annual pin event or DSF/DSSH releases. You’d see them mostly on eBay or Facebook, but it didn’t seem as prominent as it looks to be now. The landscape (and price points) feel different from what I remember!

Welcome back, I also recently returned to pin trading (a little under a year ago) and was shocked by how different it was. Even some things like resellers that we used to have...were not like the resellers now. It's still wonderful to see communities like this that have retained all the things I loved about trading and sharing pin joy.
