Probably not broken... Just loose? Hopefully someone has some suggestions for tightening it up.
I don't see a magnet... Was it supposed to have a magnet originally?
Sometimes the pins like that do have a magnet. PinPics does not mention this.

I looked over lunch and don't see a magnet, and the base metal must be an allow because I couldn't get a magnet to stick to it. I'm guessing the rivet is loose, but don't know that those can be tightened. I might 3-D print a clip or something to hold it closed.
